Staying predominantly cash...winter Covid-19 mk2, US elections, brexit, China playing up. A ****tail of possible chaos....Will deploy a bit...10/15% max
over 2000 O trade Buys so far today. Not entirely sure why...maybe people dont read the news,
so, yeah...quick buck it appears.
leveraged 'purchase'. Effectively 'buying' but not owning a quantity of stock with less cash than they are worth. No voting rights attached. Purely a financial play to make money I suppose...well, of course it is, but in this context they are taking the fraction of a % profit to takeover price.
has actually moved a bit. Ask 1838. About as exciting as it gets, apart from all these CFD's being purchased by random funds.
Oh...and, I was 'looking forward' to this year and next with more oil to pump and an increase in oil price. AA is a bottler.
When he saw the share price drop in Feb, had to push back capex, and Covid was hitting, I think he panicked and want a deal...any deal. Then Saudi and Russia had a spat, and he folded. Bet he's rubbish at poker.
Sparky, I am voting against it even if it means a drop back in price short term. Dont care about decom costs blah blah blah. Assets are worth more.
No idea what is happening. Bemused by the whole thing...TR1s now. Some gargantuan O trades from yesterday just popped through. Maybe this isn't all done and dusted as AA would like
Is this to be expected? Any thoughts on someone else getting involved in scuppering the deal?
different discloser
Does this make sense to anyone? They have a core holding, and they also are short the same amount. Is this about retaining voting rights whilst not actually realising profit in the deal?
Casually looks at GKP....has flashbacks. Pauses..ponders. Never say never.
It makes me wary of North Sea oil valuations now. If RRE is worth what it's being sold for, this is a publicly published ceiling for everyone else in effect;
It isn't 100% in the bag. Let's just wait and see what unfolds.
Marvellous.
Handful buying, handful selling. Dividend every so often, oil and gas being produced. That's about it. Possibly one of the most meh stocks I own. At least I don't have to think too much.
we are still in a solid uptrend from lows. Bounced off bottom a few times, but all is good.....just very slow
it was funny though.
fkin el sparky. Did you clean out the back of the sofa after a few decades?
