Listen to our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode 'Uncovering opportunities with investment trusts' with The AIC's Richard Stone here.
Pays your money takes your chance. The rampers are very quiet this morning.
Nobody knows.
If you are thinking of buying or selling trust your own instincts. Its dropping pretty sharply and nobody on here will know why, despite trying to convince you it must be good news.
"Because we have absolutely no balance here at all. Everyone thinks it is a 100% guarantee."
Not everybody does though its probably misrepresented as a proportion anyway. Generally the loudest people on here talk the most nonsense.
Its all smoke and mirrors anyway. As people ramping on here 24 7 thinking they can influence the share price only wasting their time. One day my filter list might grow so much that it breaks the internet. For every 100 mindless rampers there is one person worth listening to.
Oh and most importantly this test is aimed at testing for active virus, rather than picking up fragements of virus as found in other covid tests. So much better able to tell when people are infectous.
@mjing
Yes I agree this is high risk, but responding to your points in turn
Delays possible - Possible with any investment
Results not good - Possible with any investment
Missed the boat - How? Testing will be around for a very long time. If a new variant suddenly pops up making the vaccines less effedtive testing will be at the forefront of getting every economy up and runnung
No contracts - See below
No cash to take it forward - I doubt they have any plans to take it forward. Selling or JV with a major pharma in my opinion is the way forward
Government already have plans for testing in place - Maybe, but what if a faster test appears on the market. Are you saying they will not take a look? Huge global market too.
Vaccine is working sensationally well - Thats debatable
Lockdown should be completely finished by June - Where have we heard that before? What about new variants? What about the global market
Plus you are overlooking
- Potentially this test might be the fastest test on the market right now
- Possible use for bladder cancer testing and another very prevalent illness, from memory Alzheimers.
Out of interest, why are you telling us why this is very high risk? Seems very odd popping up out of nowhere to tell holders to be careful.
Same with RMS, will all come crashing down.
"There was definitely some pumping at the back end of last week and even this morning; the usual quotes with words like "once we break 40p, it will be push up', 'next step up 45p', 'see you at 80p', 'this should hit £1+ easy', 'compared to GGP mcap we'll be £2 or £3 in no time' etc, etc - and then we hit 40p+ just after the bell and the board pumpers swung into action."
If you have a browse around LSE and twitter you will see sort of activity is rampant (pardon the pun). The sooner you put people like that on your filter list the better your experience will be on here. I suggest starting with SaintRampez if they pop up on any share you are invested in. There are some very intelligent people on here who are able to post objective viewpoints. They are a lot easier to find once you have filtered out most of the dross.
"releasing upbeat messages about regular testing and vaccine news etc - now the markets are closed.
Hmm."
IF you are alluding that is about GDR then I think you have found the worlds thinnest argument.
A nice blue day after a very strong start and reasonable close. However I have only been on this forum a few days and the incessant ramping is already getting tiresome. This investment company might have an absolute gem of a holding. People on here ramping away every few hours are not helping its cause.
If the test is a goer then the share price will rerate up all by itself. Providing a running commentary and repeatedly saying 'ROCKET' gives the impression this is a pump and dump and you are probably doing more harm that good. I personally some of you need to consider reining it in a little.
I agree. Market wants sales news
"PI noticed he’s mainly twitted at night, but today he’s got time to twitt. Thus, I conclude that that they have finished testing and are getting the statement ready."
Really?
Thats like saying Elon Musk went on twitter last night. Therefore I conclude he has built every Tesla that was on order. News will come when it comes, no need for the amature detective work.
"PROtraders gain and investors go down the drain"
Brilliant top up opportunity. Only those unable to decipher the RNS and were crazy enough to sell have lost out.
"can you imagine the impact when bitcoin is hit with the big sell-off."
I have the popcorn ready.
"Extremely poor start tbh. With the amount of work we did over the weekend all over social media, i was expecting a 130p minimum opening. "
What are you on about? Its a very solid start. Social media nonsense is not news. Solid money moving in to substantially increase the SP needs real news not the rampy dross you see on twitter el al.
130p didnt hold. I see the next stop being 105p
Some very nasty and immature people on here this morning. If you cannot accept the drops then do not play the game.
"The market’s desperate for shares, trying to convince punters to sell buy lowering the bid earlier. This is looking very strong imo."
AIM forums are so funny
Any drop is a treeshake for the impending good news
If the drop isnt a tree shake it's allowing iis to buy in before the good news
Any rise is obviously also good news
Isn't the AIM a wonderful place.
You are 100% correct that its not a foregone conclusion, but having thought about this a lot over the weekend the absolute worst case downside in my opinion is a lot less than the potential upside. Avacta currently trading with a £500m + market cap. If braveheart even gets to half of that it corresponds to a 650p share price here.
I have been reading into this stock and the test today but I am struggling a bit.
Whats the intended plan for the test? I have been reading up on Paraytec who are developing this test but it is not clear how they are going to get it scaled up. If (as many of you seem to claim) the best use will be for football grounds or events or airports. I doubt it is cheap to produce the kit in big numbers and I cannot find any information about the finances of Paraytec Limited. I guess that is not public information as the company is limited?
I like the sound of the test but this message board seems a bit rampy when there does not seem to be a plan for getting it to mass market. Does anybody have an objective (ie non rampy) view for how the company get the test (if it passes the trials) into the market?
I am really thinking of getting invested here on the strength of the technology but the financial and logistical aspects do not seem clear to me, which is a concern.
If you must write a rampy post at least dont start with a lie. It does ruin the credability considerably.
Beckman Coulter are NOT a $160b company. They are a subsidiary of the Danaher Corporation who are a circa $160b company. Danaher have many divisions within their group.
