It's called the Private Finance Initiative better known as PFI. Private money will build all the new battleships, submarines etc that the UK requires then rent them back to the MOD.

Any additional personnel will be the responsibility of His Majesty's government.

In the event of any servicing, repairs due to manoeuvres or war damage, we will pay the said private companies the going rate, they will work ‘in the field.’

This scheme is well tested and currently working under the NHS banner.

First implemented under John Major's government. Massively expanded by Blair's government, so much so that we are all straining to pay for it for the next 50 years.

But you can't put a price on the safety of our citizens.
