Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Morning All,
Perhaps we should subtly place the FT broker prediction on Reddit and enjoy the ride to a cash out opportunity :-)
In all seriousness, whilst like many others I still believe in the project, I do not have a shred of confidence in the board as it stands. I'd like to see it corrected, but if it isn't, will firmly be in the time for replacement camp.
Only a few weeks to an RNS for the next quartlerly CLN payment mind, so something to look forward to!
Cheers

Absolutely..!
As a sideline, anyone on LinkedIn I would recommend following Hydrogen East. Not surprisingly, they are focused on the East, especially the Bacton Gas Terminal in Norfolk, but they do post and link to some interesting stuff generally about Hydrogen.
Very valid concern. Overheads increase month on month and the level of work does not currently support it.
So yes, a big gamble!! Do need to see a big win of some sort by July/ August or I think we'll be in a precarious position.
I completely understand these feelings.
I'm assuming that the Board were banking on some bigger news to have driven the SP higher by the next raise, I was certainly hoping it'd have been on something 60p+ rather than where we are.
Perhaps foresight would have meant they'd gone for enough on the last round given how over-subscribed that was.
Suspect it'll be successful but will add to sales pressure over the next few months and therefore restrain growth.
Fingers crossed for a positive ML decision sometime by the autumn and good news on the LOI in July.
Cheers

Hi All,
Not great news at all.
Have said many times recently that fully expected this, but to do it at 30p is, as Roly says, a slap in the face.
Have to say am very disappointed with this

Hi Stokey,
Absolutely, and I don't doubt they'd be some value with it, but more likely at £100k an acre rather than £1m!
Be nice to see something happen with it that provides some value though, even a turbine/s as you've suggested.

Hi driftwood,
With respect, the land is worth no where near that. Property prices aren't spectacular in that part of the world, it is a heavily contaminated due to its heavy industrial use making development expensive and 35acres does not mean 35acres of developable land. I suspect its current use gives the best land value rather than residential use.
Not to say they couldn't look at some residential use on some of the greenfield land of course to extract some value out of it.
Cheers

The Spice trade would be far more lucrative at the moment!
Sub 1.50p incoming?
With the next lifting of restrictions and we if we still have radio silence, at least we'd be able to go and knock on some doors to look for signs of life
Absolutely. My view on it is that the oil majors should have started a lot sooner. They're such big beasts that trying to do the bulk of it in a decade isn't sensible. But better late than never. BP are clearly focused on medium term value appreciation which I think is right, even if it does mean shorter term pain in a lack of growth
B*gger- fair point, well made..!! It's even still on the same page..!
Morning All,
Extract from the Ministers response to a question on Islandmagee earlier this month...
I am in a situation in which there is huge potential for whatever decision I make to be judicially reviewed by either the applicant or the residents. Therefore, I have to be very careful about what I say, and, before arriving at a decision, I have to give this my absolute careful consideration
I missed this at the time and can't recall whether it was posted on here, so apologies in advance if this is duplication. But does suggest a decision isn't imminent, and there remains a high risk of a JR and/ or Public Inquiry. This makes other work streams hugely important over the rest of this year and at this point for me, the ML is a bonus rather than expectation, especially this year at least.
Hopefully we'll see news of a Carnival incoming very soon!
Cheers

Would be interesting see a Carnival at Appledore...!!
But, if we see this in Belfast, then it'll be a huge coup for H&W, and certainly raise some eyebrows. Could be a nice customer relationship to build too.
Watching patiently now...!!
Morning All,
Overall...
Margins- good
Revenue- sluggish
Loss- expected
Credit raise- not mentioned here but we may be close to needing an injection of funds to maintain a healthy balance sheet.
Going forwards- hopefully we'll see an uptick in numbers, and broader range, of ships in Dock over the coming months with an increase in contract value. More wind contracts, possible news on the Triumph ships over the summer, real tenders for new UK domestic vessels at Appledore, and always lurking in the background is a real possibility of MOD work.
ML- still waiting game. Trying not to think too much about it but overall balance still thinking it should fall positively.
Overall- still extremely positive albeit still risky, but very much looking forward to seeing how the next 6 months develop.
Cheers
