Divi looks like it needs to be cut …. I’ve cut my holding here by 50% the last week on the premium to NAV a tad disappointing this past year but Asia has come off the boil first bought in around 328 last year average now around 250p but hard work.

Always hurts to take a loss … but such is the market …

Andsoforth …. Market is unforgiving …. I don’t mind people taking profits when stocks are high leading to outflows but my feelings now are that retail will be getting cash strapped with higher inflation …. And needing to cash in that is an entirely different scenario.

We will see … I’d rather buy back in at a higher price than 191 on positive inflows than hope watching a share crash down to £1.00

Hoping for a buyout is never a good idea … bailed this morning …. Sidestepped into other beaten down stocks,

The wild card is Iran coming back on line …. dumped NESF bought a few Seplat this morning at 119 sold 123.5p …. along with other beaten down stocks ….

… inflation high, oil price high means probability of recession high.

Don’t forget that when base rates exceed 3% shorters are paid for holding their positions …. We have not been in normal times since pre 2008 ….

… these are very more than risky times going forwards.

Good post Trek .... tempting to get back in but yield of 5.2-5.5% depending on £/$ is not attractive ... for me.

Just think of the number of people taking out annuities without an inflation hedge ….. profits will be rolling in.

Gas prices for Seplat are fixed owing to government agreements until next year believe this in an oil play … I’m clear now.

I’ve worked Seplat hard these past two years …. Big mistake not getting fully into Shell last July rather than hang on in Seplat given the shareprice woes of late 2021 but such is the market ….

… have made a tidy sum here …. Took some off the table at 115 … today …. Moved into NESF as the only renewable to not gave taken off post Ukraine war having sold FSFL a tad early but there we ho.

A more than comfortable position here as a now small percentage of profits.

It was I hesitate to say obvious that the West (EU) would turn to Nigeria for gas .... especially givem the Swiss connections to Seplat .... but I have to say reading the transition gas policy of Nigeria and Seplat, that Nigeria itself is far more clued up on the transition to green energy than the useless t**sers in the current UK government.

The big fall is because hedge funds want your money, and will have joined forces to hit the shareprice timed with this article.

Don't know about other years ... but once approved, I fail to see the point of repeating .... there was also a mention in the annual results of going for share buybacks rather than a special dividend going forwards .... I assume this is because of the low valuation of the stock.

I bought back slightly too early after the spike from December 2021 owing to:

and results seemed good to me .... assets under management up if I remember rightly while outflows also up taking the shareprice down owing to hedge funds looking to make a quick buck.

Seems to me, that outflows with increased holding assets simply means folk have taken profits.

I don't have a problem with that.
