BA have two flights a week to NZ (via Doha). Just who is travelling on these flights? It seems that Sportsmen (with their families), Politicians, businessmen and those with essential skills are permitted, but the rest of us are barred. My son lives near Wellington airport, he reports dozens of private jets flying in and out everyday. Seems covid doesn't affect the above.
I see over the last several days a large amount of transactions in shares. Does this bode well for the company? I'm well down on this one.
Same here Jelly, first purchased bmn April 2019 and have averaged down. Nobody else's fault but my own-I clicked the "buy" button. Invested most of my savings here hoping for a comfortable retirement in the sun. Now instead of a villa in Barbados, it looks like a beach hut in Bognor... On the bright side at least I've got my health and shortly a free bus pass.
My wife and I used to travel to NZ every winter to visit relatives, plus flying to Spain in the Autumn and a couple of domestic flights each year. The restrictions on travel coupled with the now pointless testing are crippling this industry but making insane money for the producers of PCR tests (they don't want this to end). We are desperate to travel, we have a BA voucher which runs out next April and another cancelled holiday (lost deposit). Only when we relinquish fear and start getting on with our lives (And pretty quickly) will the travel industry recover...and maybe IAG
Yes I remember Richken and Ophidian making outrageous sp predictions. Seems an age since then...about as long I've been losing money on this share. Well Perhaps they both made good with avacta and are enjoying it now. Hope our time will come...eventually!
I've been invested big time in BMN since early April 19. I have averaged down ever since but still way under-can't afford to sell and don't want to have to live on the state pension. I couldn't care less who runs the company or what qualifications they hold. If they double my money I'll be happy with them!
On here at 20 and awful for those in at 35. It’s fine been shot down by the 1-10p club for saying how disappointing this is.
I 'm in that position, I guess it’s only a loss if you sell but time for some sobering facts.
I honestly think 35p is literally a year away despite what anyone says numbers done lie it’s 13p and by my calculations that’s the same price as late July 2020. To continue to pump what is clearly a bleeding stock is just wrong.
By the same token this time next year this could be easily 10 it’s closer to 10 than it is to 35 that’s just fact.
Many investors here hurting bad and they don’t care about if but or maybe's. They care about what they have invested and to shoot them down or call them out is honestly very poor.
So my objective unselfish self centred advice to anyone who maybe bought in really high is to average this down possibility to the 20 level so at least worst case you have a shot in the mid term to break even.
Don’t let anyone you don’t know tell you this is great or that is bad, just stick with facts - it’s 13p it’s been bleeding lower lows and higher highs. This won’t be a popular post but it’s a legit one based on what we can all see and based on anyone who is sitting in the red wondering what to do.
The pumpers will call you trolls, MM, this and that or try and pick and poke to make you sound stupid.
But …. When you ignore all that mute the noise we are where we are, I’ve seen investors over the years be cold so emotionally involved in a stock it no longer becomes about the stock they just don’t want to be wrong, none of us do.
Keep strong don’t be swayed and hopefully this stops bleeding down because at this rate who knows.
I have several friends who holiday in the cape every year. They absolutely love the beautiful scenery, fantastic beaches, wine and warm weather (especially to miss the British winter). However I have also come across many expat South Africans who have emigrated to safe countries (Australia, NZ, Europe and the UK) to escape the undertone of violence and murder that occurs daily in the major cities. When I hear stories from real people I touch wood that I live in the UK. A Holiday in a safe zone is one thing but to get lost in Joberg or a lonely country road is like playing Russian roulette.
Around three years ago I remember Malcy predicting Hurricane would be "Worth a £1 of anyone's money." I hope they didn't pay him in shares! RIP Hurricane
5m1ffy I'm certainly not an imaginary investor in BMN. I invested a large portion of my pension three years ago on the encouragement of rich ken (where has he gone?) and other's. I sincerely hope the company's potential is realised for my myself and for all bushy investors. It's the constant up's and down that are at times very depressing. I won't be selling my shares but will read the forum less often-Kind regards all.
Jelly, I echo your thoughts in the first mail I have ever sent on the BMN forum. I'm well underwater after 3 years buying in high. If I had invested in Fundsmith I would have doubled my money by now. The SP will need multibag for my investment here to be worth all the stress and false dawns that I've been through. I'm holding for a miracle.
I'm in my early 60s, had my AstraZeneca jab over two weeks ago now. Knocked me out for almost a week, still suffering high temperatures and feeling completely washed out. I've read that if you've had covid (which the majority of us probably have) the side effects of the vaccine are worse. Still, has not put me off the second jab.

Regarding Dark nights comments, I’m afraid to say most of his comments on the virus are factually correct. If fact he failed to mention that already since March the amount to people who have died because of the lockdowns (Missed Drs appointments, Missed Cancer diagnosis, Missed heart operations, Prostrate, Breast, Bowl, I could on, not to mention Mental health issues, loneliness and suicide has increased) are estimated to be cerca 30.000. It is expected by next year to into six figures and much higher than covid deaths.
He also didn’t mention the poverty and degradation of workers in third world countries that service this country with goods and services. No benefits in India or Bangladesh.
The way the Government has put real fear into honest law-abiding people is what I am personally most appalled at. Chairman Mao or Stalin would certainly be proud of them. A couple of hours research on the internet will tell you everything you want to know about how viruses work, the history of Pandemics and how the immune system works.
Also check out the PCR test (Polymerase chain reaction), a very accurate test meant for testing patients with Symptoms, NOT the without. It’s so accurate that it’s picking up RDA sheds in asymptomatic patients that are weeks or months old, thus giving false positives of patients. The more testing you do (now up to 500000) yes five hundred thousand a day, the more false positives and thus the inflated figures you see. Remember Covid-2 is the virus, Covid-19 the disease.
Because this has become Political, all reasonable dialog has been thrown out of the window. The government are only concerned with their own backsides, they care for that and that reason only. I pretty confident the present PM would sell his own mother to keep in power. Expert epidemiologists and virologists who question the present strategy are quickly denigrated and never appear in the media.
I believe history will look upon this episode with incredulity at the Hysteria caused by a virus which has 0.03%-0.05% fatality rate, A lockdown which resulted in more deaths than the virus itself and resulted the worst recession for 300 years.

Agree Roger, unfortunately most of the great unwashed think the virus is akin to the black death. Last month (October) Covid-19 was the 15th (Yes 15th) cause of deaths in the UK. With so many potential vaccines in the pipe line this might be time for a wise investor to consider buying. The pent up demand for holidays will be such that bookings will sky rocket on a vaccine announcement. Short haul will be first so EZJ or RYA may be a good bet.
There are currently 11 vaccines in final stage trails, of which six are in limited non-trail use. Ministers have more information in front of them than we do. We may be just a few weeks away from a vaccine roll out. If news comes out before Christmas then everything will change.

I will add to that that my wife and i were locked down in NZ while on holiday until mid May. We travelled back on two long haul flights via LA, we are both in our 60s and didn't wear masks. We are both fit and healthy-the chances of dying of covid-2 are about the same as drowning...in fact the biggest risk was actually flying.
