Gold is widespread in low concentrations in all igneous rocks. Its abundance in the Earth’s crust is estimated at about 0.005 parts per million. It occurs mostly in the native state, remaining chemically uncombined except with tellurium, selenium, and possibly bismuth. The element’s only naturally occurring isotope is gold-197. Gold often occurs in association with copper and lead deposits, and, though the quantity present is often extremely small, it is readily recovered as a by-product in the refining of those base metals. Large masses of gold-bearing rock rich enough to be called ores are unusual. Two types of deposits containing significant amounts of gold are known: hydrothermal veins, where it is associated with quartz and pyrite (fool’s gold); and placer deposits, both consolidated and unconsolidated, that are derived from the weathering of gold-bearing rocks.
Chairman's Statement I am delighted to report that this past six month period has culminated in Centurion's listing on AIM. Our management team has a breadth of experience in the natural resources sector, and has been working hard to identify prospective projects that fulfill our stringent investment criteria. In line with this, I am confident that our first project, the 33 sq km Mitterberg Copper Project ('Mitterberg' or 'the Project') located in the historic Mitterberg district of Salzburg, Austria, provides the Company with a solid foundation that offers shareholders an ideal opportunity to gain exposure to the highly prospective natural resource sector. The Project, which includes a historically producing high grade copper mine, is located in an area of significant mineralisation in Austria with the Mitterberg district estimated to contain the largest copper concentration in the Eastern Alps. The Mitterberg Copper Project was previously mined on a commercial scale in the 1970s, with approximately 120,000 tonnes of copper believed to have been extracted to date. Plentiful historic data has provided us with a strong understanding of the mineral-rich area and a current calculated exploration target of 11.0Mt-11.7Mt grading between 1.0%-1.15% copper for the Project. Additionally, the level of historical mining in the area demonstrates the presence of a well mineralised system and consequently our consultants, Al Maynard & Associates Pty Limited ('AM&A'), is of the firm opinion that potential exists to develop a JORC Code compliant copper mineral resource estimate below and to the west of the current mine workings. a story will unfold by starting in reverse .

Centurion Resources Plc is pleased to note the positive results from recently completed resource in-fill and upgrade drilling at North Mining d.o.o.'s ('North Mining') Montenegro Base Metals Project ('Monty Project'), as announced by its strategic partner Balamara earlier today. As previously announced Centurion holds a 10 per cent. equity position in North Mining following the formation of a strategic partnership with Balamara.. Alastair Clayton, CEO of Centurion said: "The high grade zinc-lead-silver results from Balamara's multiple target drilling campaign at the Monty Project have exceeded expectations and underpin the Project's potential to add value to our investment in North Mining. "Particularly of note from this update is the continued reclassification of the Brskovo resource from Inferred to Indicated status as well as the high grade silver results at the Visnjica target which, when included in the Resource calculation, add significantly to the project. Further exploration in 2013 will also investigate the extent of the mineralisation between the deposits, which will provide a much better understanding of the mineralisation within the entire licence area as the project continues to be developed." looks to me there may well be a little more to this statement gl atb ; )
