JP, it's difficult without knowing the detail and your requirements, but I think you need combined charge controller/inverters that have higher input voltages, such as Outback SPC III 5kw 48v or the Victron 48v off grid range, so you would configure your strings to supply that higher voltage, this will bring the amps down. Your battery banks will still be charged at 48v.
Your battery capacity seems fine for the average house allowing for 50% discharge (lead acid if that's the case) however with that amount of solar you'll be throwing alot of energy away when the house isn't using the available solar directly from the inverter and the bank is fully charged.

JP, sp you have 20 panels per string ? and 6 strings ?....what's the capacity of your battery bank ?

J46...are you sure its 600A required that's v large, if correct would need to split into strings and use smaller controller. More info required on/off grid ?

Hi Opt, recently I'm taking £10/pt positions, It's been working for me but risky even with tight stops slipage can do some damage, I need to go back to 1% on day and 5% onswings really. I used to keep a journal and take screen shots etc but never had time to reflect on them so it was a bit pointless, these days I just keep a mental note if I'm up on the week, and of course the bottom line never lies. I feel like I'm getting better at spotting winners ( that can change lol), if that's the case I need to sort out risk and not be too lazy. You sound like you're retired, living the dream, .... I'm only half retired, that's what I tell the wife anyway :)
