"At the CN Decarbonising Construction conference last month, Mace’s head of sustainability outlined how the firm has worked with University College London to delve into the use of low-carbon concrete and ultra-low-emissions steel. He said the methods can help to cut embodied carbon by about 75 per cent and though they are initially expensive, he hoped the price will drop in time. The firm is also trialling hydrogen fuel cells to replace diesel generators."
