I don't know about Ukraine, but it feels like we've been invaded this weekend, given all the ex-forces we've got in here ATM. ;-) All good, guys (and any girls if you're here). In fact the chat's probably more interesting than the usual guff we get in here of a weekend as we wait for you know what. Actually, does anyone know what we're waiting for? Oh yeah, for AM and COPL to hopefully make our lives a little more pleasureable. Anyway, I'm away to watch the Reds vs Burnley before I head back to Scouseland tomorrow.
Charlie1984(I think), I'm going to leave Thailand in your capable hands, and wallet, for the next three months.
Quite possibly, BD1. Hey, you never know though. Here’s hoping. We need some kind of positive news to break out of this rut.
I'll predicate this post by saying it's a rhetorical question, but why on earth did I think last year's Q4 results were published on Feb 15th? It must have been another share I'm in. Apologies.
“We were thinking 40p is a minimum next few days.”
Is that the royal we, shaa, because I can assure you there are a few on this BB who believe we’ll not get past 40p until we get positive news?
I forgot to add that we all know how AM likes to lump all the news together.
Going off last year, I fully expect Q4 results at the beginning of next week, along with an update on current production and possibly the CPR. What that will do to the SP, I have no idea. I’ve given up trying to guess with COPL. Even if he was trying to do so, I can no longer see the point in AM trying to suppress the SP now that the bids are in for Cuda. We either get Cuda with a lowball offer or, hopefully, one of the majors buys in and we have our wealthy JV partner. If that were to happen, well, that could be the start of the re-rate.
Let's not forget that Q4 results are due next week, and, while they're not likely to be earth-shatteringly good, who's to say the CPR won't be dropped in with them?
Normally I hate threads with this title, but I think there might actually be some truth to it today, hopefully. ;-)
Noob, you appear to be ululating again.
The trading range appears to be narrowing. Whether or or not that is good depends upon next news. Given that Q4 results are going to be poor, I’d suggest we still have a dip to come before we can realistically try and breach 40p.
It's going nowhere without news.
I think you're right, Harry. These algorithms will trade on such small margins multiple times a day. I was just making a point.
And once we hit 10% the traders will sell off.
I'm with Mal, in regards that the latest will be the end of March, but I truly believe we could get it as early as next week, once AM has heard about any rival bids -- if we've even bid for Cuda at all. So many unknown unknowns with this fkn share, but it's all good.
Just to get things back on the here and now, we're just about to find out if 34p is the new floor, which I'm hoping it is.
Just gone through $92.
"The endless 15 seconds between posts on the Canadian market has rendered this bulletin board next to useless, as I would suspect most are here for a reasonable long term return. I’ll look in at the weekend when Canada is closed. Might make it more palatable."
Made me laugh.
Let's not forget that Canada stands at 38.5p equivalent, so even if there were a slight pull back, which I'm hoping there won't be, they'd only be coming back down to our level. Anyway, let the afternoon's games begin.
Right, just back from the gym.
"I know of at least 3 investors on here who make around £9000 - £12000 on every penny increments."
Shaa, that wasn't the point Stas20 was making. In fact, no one really needs to know that, but thanks for telling us anyway. He was talking about a self-reinforcing feedback loop, or as he calls it: a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more something is perpetuated (I'm not going to use the word'myth', but...), the more people believe it; in this case it would be the so-called resistance levels. If you give the traders and their algorithms the slightest advantage, then they'd be stupid not use it.
Stas20, I can assure you I'm not a trader; I went through the agony of the December doldrums and didn't think about trading/selling once. But I know exactly what you mean about the fixations, and I know exactly who you're talking about.
194m and change.
