As a couple of weeks ago you were expecting to make 30% in a couple of weeks if you invested here, but you chose not to, can I ask what you did decided to buy instead? If an expected 30% in weeks wasn't a good enough return, why worry that GGP hasn't even managed to do that?

Could be partners who keep the their own portfolios but mirroring each other. I look after a dozen or so small SIPPs for nephews and nieces and the other I was selling a similar amount in each to top up here. It could have looked odd, but there was another interesting about it

19 people out of the 2300 entrants included GGP. In January, it was rated a "Sucker Stock". Been here continuously through the ups and downs since 2014. Where I have sold along the way, it was at a lower price than my average. Not sold any since January 2018, and topped up a few times since then. My five picks included GGP of course, and I'm curently at N 15 in the league table (with 2300 entrants). I noticed that two people higher-placed than me also included GGP. GGP up 402% since the competition stated on 1 January

There's a lot of talk here on how people would vote on a takeover. For a lot of those (including me) whose shareholding is (sensibly) in an ISA or SIPP, we would not have any voting rights as we are seen as the beneficial own of our shares, but the nominee company is treated as the holder.

I've just had a response from Hargreaves Lansdown about not permitting withdrawals from an ISA and putting the money back in in the same tax year. The gist is "not seeing much demand" - so presumably a few more enquiries might focus their minds.

HL's response: "I can confirm that you are correct in stating that if you withdraw from your Stocks & Shares ISA then you lose that portion of your ISA allowance.

With regards to the introduction of a flexible Stocks & Shares ISA I can understand why you may find a flexible ISA, allowing savers and investors the ability to withdraw up to the value of their ISA savings or investments and then replace them within the same tax year a useful addition to the service we provide. The question about withdrawing cash from an ISA and putting it back is an interesting one. There are companies which offer this eg https://www.share.com/a-guide-to-investing/all-about-isas/flexible-isas (You sell the shares, withdraw the cash, repay in cash and then reinvest).
I've just checked Hargreaves Lansdown (where I have my ISA) and they don't appear to offer this. I've written to them and asked whether their website is still correct and, if so, whether they have any plans to change this.
As the law has allowed this flexibility since 2016, I might start to try to stir up some media interest. By not offering this flexibility, firms are simply trying to hold on to cash

That's generally no longer correct as the rules changed some time ago. In a flexible ISA, money you take out in a particular tax year can be put back in again (but only in that same tax year) without it affecting (or exceeding) the ISA allowance.
