now that is an interesting debate...it seems there is a lot of money sitting on sidelines and typically only when that is reduced are mkts likely to be at risk, with the fed and other governments adding support and soon stymulus to the financials of economies the phrase 'don't fight the fed' appears relevant....mkts will be bouyed for a few months yet imo as alternative returns are just not there and stocks are seeing increased activity and clealry rising.....you are right to keep an eye on the main indicies, you can't trade against them, however, short term moves are just that so imo we are 'enjoying' the volatility that comes with it and falls like just happened here are imo opportunities, and there have been a few recently and likley will be over coming weeks and months....if you have a good company (cash, little no debt, income etc ) and nothings changed but the sp i regard that as a share on sale :-)
