Looking ahead for IAG shares
From here, my focus turns to the final quarter of 2022 and the new year beyond. Some of the negative pressure has eased in the past few weeks. For example, an agreement was reached with British Airways staff for a pay increase. We’ve also seen the price of Brent crude oil drop over $10 per barrel from the end of August.

More good news for the future was highlighted in the Q2 results, with capacity for this quarter at 78% of 2019 levels. The steady tick higher from this metric gives me some confidence that the business could get back to 100% of pre-pandemic capacity within the next year.

On that basis, I think IAG shares could outperform the FTSE 100 over the next year as it bolsters the finances and increases flying hours.

I wouldn't call it toys are thrown out...we are merely down 1 pence. we will close in the GREEN i think. oil still low. good opportunity to buy more (with extra cash) and then take some extra profits. DYOR.

ECB raises interest rates by 75bp. Widely expected. Energy cap on energy prices should help. More disposable income for holidays, i think. DYOR.

AC, other problems are causing this to stay low...staffing issues, fears of a recession...war in ukraine..all of these will pass, no doubt about that..growth too...iag is soving staff issues now and will be done by OCT-NOV..recession won't be too deep if help is given to families..war in ukraine will come to an end, thanks to XXXXXXXXXX!! wait and see...£2,00 will come too...give it time..I am sure of that.
