Sundance, i will tell you as you can all laugh at Scotty.. going back many years, low fuel prices always meant very high growth, more flights, cheap tickets but also many ghost flights...non-profitable flights. Higher jet fuel means less growth, less flights, very expensive tickets and full flights. No flying around half empty. If you look at BA, they only fly circa 600 flights daily , sometimes they fly 650..and passenger numbers are now 20 times of covid lows!!!!!!!!less than pre covid!!! But very profitable indeed...It's about discipline in the airline industry, something they could not help about it in times of cheap fuel and that is key from now on. Less flights, full flights and very profitable..expenditure is also cut, less planes, less staff ....less everything. Expansion ONLY IF the flights are full...and more expensive tickets but not to the point that they become non profitable. So, high fuel price means high discipline. DYOR, i have done mine and today the skies look rather busy!!again!!
