The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Hate to throw a spanner in the works & I’ll possibly get grilled a little for what I’m about to mention. But I guess conversation is never active unless all cards are on the table. So pls remember this question was only asked to promote a discussion.
One thing that never gets discussed is the occasional corruption which exists in South Africa. I have friends in SA who often question why I’d be interested in BMN…primarily due to the fact it’s based in SA. I have a small investment in BMN still, but…I do often question if any form of corruption or government involvement exists within BMN. As much as I enjoy visiting SA, such corruptions are regularly discussed on the news and between the public…yet we tend to assume as shareholders none of this affects us – almost as a hope things will be okay?
Does anyone else believe this too?
I have no evidence for this as yet, but I would have thought the BMN SP would have increased in price a little by now.
All thoughts welcome, thanks in advance.
@Lawrence. Thanks a little bit of backing always adds some weight.
I was making a correlation between 'have a good feeling about next week' and your predictions, that's all.
Another week awaits.
Second story half way down - https://www.ii.co.uk/analysis-commentary/insider-greatland-gold-star-buys-stock-eqtec-fd-sells-ii515038 .
8th Feb. Old story to some, but thought it was worth sharing.
I raised this qu Fri eve as it surprised me too - under 'RE: Technical Qu re BMN price - google or yahoo?'
Thought it was a glitch at first as it wasn't showing on other platforms like yahoo etc. Someone indicated that 'The UT (uncrossing trade) for the closing auction was priced at 18.3p and becomes the official closing price. The 20p trade was a few minutes later.'
This makes sense....but still interested to see what / or who triggered this steep incline. Tomorrow will be the true teller of this I guess.
Does anyone know why there is a price of 20.00 on google/ yet a 18.30 on yahoo finance ( (both @ 16.46 GMT)
Is google's price of 20.00 known as a 'crossing trade' and will re-correct on Monday?
Thanks in advance.
Honestly speaking, I was actually joking about my previous comment "What next...a mention on reddit". I'd much prefer a gradual and strong grow of BMN over the years. I think a quick rise and fall would be devastating for the BMN and all of us invested in it. Whereas a gradual steady growth of the SP over years would come with actual proof BMN is a strong setup.
Gorhan, for what it's worth I'm relatively new too.
It's a relatively volatile market full-stop. It has a good running in recent months, but additional Green-sector stocks have experienced a drop in the past few days. Just look at CWR and ITM too in the past two days - crazy results...then a cliff edge! It's a long haul hold that'll truly determine the reality of EQT. I could be wrong on this, but I'm expecting a rocky ride throughout the whole of 2021 (and onwards), similar to what joojoo66 said - it'll be a long ride...with many ups and downs!
I'm attempting to cope with ride this by investing in 4-6 different stocks (all green stocks). But I only expect 50% to make it.
A bit of a waffle above, but ...hope it helped a little.
On your mention of '- Out of hundreds of companies, Stockopedia came up with their Top 20 tips for 2021, and BMN came 3rd (and will do better than the two above it!)' Where is this report / article that stockopedia wrote.
As a stockopedia member myself, I'd be interested to see it. Still learning the ropes of stockopedia too.
Thanks in advance.
Lots holders on of this chat group are sharing great reasons on here to maintain their future interest in NCYT...but the question I want to put out there is:
'Any today-sellers of NCYT wish to share why they sold up on a day of good results?'
This may give holders of NCYT a better rationale on today's situation - imo.
Thanks in advance.
I'm glad you mentioned Reddit. Just proves volatility can arrive in so many different formats. Reddit is only one platform too, I wonder if there is any way of safe proofing different crowds and platforms in the future.
