Ian Hanson used to be, or still is the COO of Global who owns Capital radio. Now he's also on the BOD at Melody. There's a connection.
Sorry he worked for Bkstg which was backed by livenation. Oops
What about Redbull TV. Not a top channel but broadcast Lollapalooza live in VR and are working in conjunction with livenation where Ben Samuels used to work.
There is a live gig or such as. Babe Rexha (one of Melody's) will be performing live tonight at the EMA MTV awards in Bilbao along with many others. This is available live in VR360 via the MTV EMA app. Is Melody involved?
So the update allows you to view through your phone or tablet. I have an S7 and I have just had a facebook service app update(which isn't done through the play store but directly) I wonder if they're linked. This could be allowing people to access VR from the GO store through their phones and opening up a larger market for the live concert! Here's hoping, fingers crossed. All of a sudden this really could be massive. GLA
I know it sounds funny but these boys would be good for the first live gig. The teen K-pop market in Asia would snap up a headset just for one gig. They have a massive and growing following. I hope melody are catching the act. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45800924
Also Sony Atv, Universal and EMI hold a stake in Tencent.
No sure of its significance but Tencent filed for an IPO to raise at least $1 billion. https://phys.org/news/2018-10-china-tencent-music-big.amp The company statement is below... The company said it planned to use the proceeds to "enhance our music content offerings to improve the variety, quality and quantity of content on our platform," to develop new products and services and for potential strategic investments.
This makes an interesting read.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45009458 I'm not going anywhere yet! GLA
Nicky jam just tweeted. It's starting 2.1m followers! GLA
I think Sony are the frontrunners in this as the CEO, Yoshida, want to move the company back to its roots and be more of a content provider. He was recently quoted as saying "Consumers listen to songs more than once but don’t often watch the same movie twice. Similarly, they demand larger song libraries while being satisfied with just a few shows on a platform such as Netflix" I also think Amazon will be keeping an eye on it as they won't want anybody else stealing a march on them.
Just joining more dots...... Amazon only seem to have Vevo videos for live performances and we share the same address. And if any company out there are aware of an increase in VR headset sales then it would be Amazon. Just saying. GLA
This looks a bit more promising. https://www.businessinsider.de/8-6-2018-the-vr-hardware-report-2018-8?r=UK&IR=T GLA
Sorry, it's cue not queue. Which means at the correct moment which this probably isn't. Haha Also it's strange seeing Melody like a tweet about Lollapalooza when someone else is broadcasting in vr. Anyone noticed any links with Red bull?
BA, you asked if the partnerships have been broken. Why are chromeo and Bruno mars being broadcast live this weekend in VR180? I thought we had a period of exclusivity. I'm just asking and I'm not de-ramping? I'm here for the long haul.
I've found this, not sure if it's already been posted but Lolapalooza if being broadcast live in VR180. The acts include Chromeo (One of melodys). I'm away atm so it's a bit difficult to research further but here's a link. https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/lollapalooza-2018-how-to-watch
https://venturebeat.com/2018/07/26/how-i-discovered-the-therapeutic-power-of-vr-by-accident/amp/ If only more people were as passionate as this guy.
Not a good day really but things are still looking up. I have been in construction for a good few years now and most of the first few years were bowling alleys and the last 20 years mostly restaurants but I've just started on a VR centre one of four proposed and I've heard another company I've worked for in the past are starting on one in the next couple of months. Interest is definitely growing as these don't come cheap. GLA
Evening all, has anybody seen this report. It appears to contain an assessment of Melody amongst others. https://brooksinbeta.com/24945/global-virtual-reality-vr-content-market-2018-tflix-samsung-google-valve-koncept-vr-voxelus-subvrsive/
