The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
I have to say the initial RNS was deceitful to my mind. Mentioning 14m was an inducement to get more interest and IIs clamouring. Don’t forget it’s not their money! Several May have believed they were favoured by being given the nod by CF. Had he said at the outset “look I’ve got far too many of these shares - they cost me next to nothing and I want to sell at a maximum profit and I want to shift as many as I can” it would have been a car crash much like the 24p now.
Are you going to keep buying as we sink lower Moni? Might be worth waiting till much lower?
This is nothing about Financing. There are technical issues here!
I have always regarded FARN as a rare quality stock. This is unbelievable
Some fool on ADVFN reckons HVO only made £7.5m EBITDA in 2023 once tax credit of 2.3m allowed for. I have no account to post my disagreement. My understanding from the last presentation is £56m x 22% margin = £12.3m and any tax credit is a bonus.
Looks like you may get the trophy for the cheapest top up - well done!
The CF effect is toxic sadly.
Above the great start to 2024. I’m still amazed that the IIs falling over themselves at 28p can’t be bothered to buy as the price drifts away through the mid 20s and possibly lower. All very very odd and why I will never be rich and the big boys always will.
I always know that I am largely in the dark with my investments- I am risk seeking by nature and luck, usually bad, is the determining factor in my performance. I suspect I am not alone. I look at the accounts and broker reports, read discussion forums and that’s about it. There are many far more researched than me and yet todays bombshell demonstrates how few really have a sufficient understanding of what is going on to be shareholders. I guess that’s why most people stick to ETFs. Investing is never boring and continues to surprise me again and again.
I blame you itsallamess for your predictive moniker. Every single share I’ve held on AIM has been a disaster with one exception HVO. Incidentally that company has no debt and is profitable with a healthy balance sheet. I think I may have discovered the secret to successful investing!
We should have all done the same. Like a twit I was still topping up at 30.75 and then held on grimly on RNS day. Hopefully the IIs won’t be tempted to stop loss if they are down 20%
Valid point thinice and I’m only a bit peed off thinking 28p would be the floor and also that the recovery to 31p was a better reflection of long overdue rerating!
Pleased they are attempting to stem the gradual decline back to low 20s. Still looking like CF had a master stroke getting the whole of the media world pumped before his sweetly timed offload at 28p
Like most people I get excited after a decent RNS and start to scrabble around for spare funds to top up or open new positions. This is just about the worst thing that anyone can do - you know it, I know it, yet the temptation is often too strong. Therefore the corollary is true - after the poor share performance this week I have applied the logic and topped up twice at low 27s.
Surprising how few follow this example. Yes I know most LTHs don’t have limitless funds but this is undoubtedly the way to maximise eventual profits.
Got another 20,000 at 27.02 so at least I’ve beaten the IIs
Like most here I felt pretty happy at the end of Jan. Stellar performance for HVO and a much healthier share account - it’s been a long time coming. Frustrating to see it all unravelling but such is life. Same old adage - switch off and get a life! One day Rodders One day.
Getting tempting again
Healthy consolidation here
The Mo Effect has been a reassuring factor in building value here. This is a nasty reminder of all that is bad about the CF effect and all its connotations. That’s why I’d like the new era not tainted by him. I suspect he will be looking to dump his remaining holding as soon as practical. Fair play to him he always wins and shifting 50% after telling the market it would be 25% was another master stroke.
But but but there have been / will be / opportunities to buy cheaper than the IIs at 28p so it’s not all bad.
