COVID pandemic is 'closer to the beginning' than the end, expert says
A US epidemiologist has said the coronavirus pandemic is actually closer to its beginning than its end.
Larry Brilliant told CNBC that this is because only a small section of the world's population has received a COVID-19 vaccine.
He said: "I think we're closer to the beginning than we are to the end [of the pandemic], and that's not because the variant that we're looking at right now is going to last that long.
"Unless we vaccinate everyone in 200-plus countries, there will still be new variants."
He said just 15% of the globe has been jabbed and some 100 countries have vaccinated just 5% of their populations.
He added that the Delta variant "may be the most contagious virus" ever, but said vaccines – especially those that use messenger RNA (mRNA) technology, protect well against the strain first identified in India.

Hi Afham
More great news and SAR is just getting better.
As some have posted recently, the silence is truly deafening. This is the biggest signal for me personally (along with HNWI’s backing us), as you say, Tim would have been doing videos with proactive and numerous other interviews, but no, just this vacuum of silence.......mmmmm.
As for your thoughts on SDC-1802, yep this is too just getting better and if the link with immunotherapy and cancer is made then we are a nail on! The patent clearly lists over 55 cancer indications that SDC-1802 could treat........worth Trillions over its patent!!!!
All upside from here and as you always rightfully state - nothing to date has failed!

Just for the balance I will post below the Lancet article re vaccine efficacy.
Potnak - I completely agree with you, our investment in Sareum is not and was not covid related and we will likely be successful on 1801 &1802 this year.
This was my post from 02 June.
Hi All
I was listening to the radio earlier and the Aussie reporter mentioned something that pricked my attention, he said he had the first AstraZeneca dose which reportedly gave him 70% protection, however, the Aussie medical authorities are now saying the 1st dose only gives 30% protection ‘at best’.
So I did a bit digging and found this Lancet article which is an eyebrow raiser!!! Depending on how efficacy is measured, it claims that most vaccines are around 1% effective. The pharma’s are using the numbers that portray the best story but that’s not the full story.

Agree Afham
I alluded to this previously, the earlier approval and granting of patent for 1802 set a legal precedent, so easy for 1801 to follow which is clearly ‘associated’ with 1802.
It could still be a tweak of 1802 but either way it’s positive
GLA
Hi Potnak
I agree. However, your comment re benefits far outweigh risks. Just say (what if) you knew someone close who had the vaccine and died from it......would you think the same.
The vaccines IMHO were developed too fast and the benchmark for efficacy set by the FDA was a ‘low one’
You will recall my post mentioning the article from the lancet which discussed how vaccines efficacy and effectiveness is derived. It claimed no of the pharmaceuticals had followed this formula.
Oh and now the call for boosters...... just saying
I’m neither for or against.
Stay safe
Hi Riviera
It’s not my argument that I need to support, I’m just sharing information that I come across whilst researching what is going on our world. It’s up to individuals to draw their own conclusions.
I’ve checked the link (for clarity) and it does take you to the VAERS database of all vaccines both currently and in use previously for many of the world’s diseases. You can select ‘expert mode’, then select covid 19 from the disease dropdown, then select all vaccines, then select what effect you like to understand (mild, Major, serious, disability and death) then select find and the data as recorded is displayed. I have not personally heard of these US stats on any mainstream media channels - please post links if you have.
https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.php
What is my argument, and in my opinion, my closing paragraph that is reported by many sources whether academic, scientific or journalistic.
ATB
Hi All
Using the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in the "Expert" mode, as of July 30, 2021, there are CONFIRMED 12,242 Deaths in the USA from the COVID-19 vaccine.
If the VAERS system only reports about one percent of all Adverse Events, then the number showing can be extrapolated to 1,224,200 U.S. Deaths from the vaccine . . . and counting.
The Die off Rate, in a short time period after getting Shot/"vaccinated", proves Causation, Not with any Certainty, but with Probability (Most Likely).
Proving that the Covid Shots are directly Causing Death.
https://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.php
As per earlier posts, with onset of mutating variants that can escape the vaccine, vaccine hesitancy and the fact the vaccine antibodies wane overtime requiring booster shots, the time is fast approaching to energise the therapeutic requirements to deal with covid.

Re the SDC-1802 patent allowance, IMHO this is another ‘tweaked’ version by John that is likely to be very specific to a certain cancer indication/group of indications.
Just more value being added that will come to light sooner rather than later.
LeMajor - agree if the regular trading statement is delayed we will know something special is in the works - remember the last half year results were delayed IMHO to wrap in the covid proof of concepts
GLA
Morning All - next RNS will likely be the half year trading update due anytime now. That doesn’t mean to say that any of the other news that could be due won’t be released as well:
SDC-1801 into covid AGILE trials
SDC-1801 CTA for autoimmune indications
SDC-1801 on license
SDC-1802 CTA cancer indications
SDC-1802 on license (likely to go with SDC-1801)
‘Secret’ Patent update (submarine surfacing soon)
SRA737 long overdue trial start - milestone due
SRA737 on license deal
SRA737 start of combo trials with AZN
Takeover/buyout

Hi RMM and All
Great summary and I agree completely with your sentiment. This period of silence for the last few weeks is a big sign for me. It can only mean one thing really that we suspect. It’s been a long journey but I’m willing (and able) to let it play out.
Hold for gold

Hi all - this is a copy of the email I sent to Anna Milkhailova - deputy political editor of the Mail on Sunday following her online article about Dexamethasone
*Dear Anna
I read your online article regarding Dexamethasone. You will be aware that Boris Johnson announced the launch of his Antivirals taskforce on the 20 April that suggested a covid pill by Autumn. He wanted this to be a British science discovery and manufactured in Britain.
Last December, Sareum PLC were awarded a UK Government grant by the UKRI to trial its TYK2 kinase inhibitor drug SDC-1801 in proof of concept experiments in covid. The relevance of this TYK2 drug signalling was indicated as a target by Dr Kenneth Baillie, one of lead clinical trial doctors on the RECOVERY trials. His teams of researchers had found only a handful of drugs out of thousands that could work to treat covid and TYK2 kinase inhibitors were one of them.
On 01 July, Sareum announced that the proof of concept experiments had been completed and importantly that their kinase inhibitor drug candidate SDC-1801 had reduced the levels of cytokines associated with ARDS in human lung cells infected with SARS-CoV-2 and demonstrated a profile that was considered superior to dexamethasone. This is great news for not only the UK but for the World.
SDC-1801 is an orally viable candidate and therefore could be developed into a covid pill that in essence switches off the immune over reaction (cytokine storm) seen in many hospitalised covid patients. More information can be found at Sareum’s website and its dedicated covid page.
Would be great if you could reach out to the government and seek an understanding of work the Antiviral Taskforce is doing and publish more about this amazing drug from Sareum in your column.*

Nice find BoilB
I have sent a tweet to Anna Milkhailova - Deputy Editor of the Mail Online informing her of our SDC-1801 and it being considered superior to dexamethasone.
May send her an email too - Anna.milkhailova@mailonsunday.co.uk
Feel free to join the chorus

A very detailed and science heavy article but you can see that the virus is out pacing the understanding from scientists.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02039-y
Of note, is the comments regarding protease inhibitors and how these should be the lead on antivirals therapeutics...... “It’s clear that SARS-CoV-2 is a very fast virus that has a unique ability to prevent our immune system from recognizing and combating infection in the first stages,” says Stern-Ginossar. By the time the immune system does realize there is a virus, there is so much of it that immune-response proteins sometimes flood the bloodstream at a faster rate than normal — which can cause damage. Doctors saw early in the pandemic that some people with COVID-19 who become very ill are harmed by an overactive immune response to SARS-CoV-2, as well as by the virus itself. Some proven treatments work by dampening down this immune response.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-01824-5
This link takes you to another ‘Nature’ article that talks about how dexamethasone is the only active therapeutic that dampens the cytokine storm. “It’s a startling result,” says Kenneth Baillie, an intensive-care physician at the University of Edinburgh, UK, who serves on the steering committee of the trial, called RECOVERY.
Yes that is the same Kenneth Baillie who hailed that TYK2 is a strong potential to knock out the cytokine signalling.
oh wait a minute, we have just proved in government funded proof of concept experiments that our TYK2 SDC-1801 is considered ‘superior to dexamethasone’!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-30/cdc-scaled-back-hunt-for-breakthrough-cases-just-as-the-delta-variant-grew
Hi All - another good week on the SAR journey.
This is a very worrisome situation being reported by Bloomberg in the US. There are now over 100,000 cases of delta infection in people that had been fully vaccinated (thought - how many out there that haven’t been reported or tested). CDC are now calling for mask mandates regardless of vaccinated status.
Covid Breakthrough Cases: Bloomberg Identifies 100,000 Cases as Delta Rises - Bloomberg
This also correlates with the Sky News report on Wednesday that stated the number of delta variant deaths since February through to July in the UK. The number was 460. Out of that 460, 289 had been double dose vaccinated and 60 had been single dose vaccinated, the remaining had not been vaccinated at all.
Covid is not getting better and the experts are worried.
Time for therapeutics

National costs for cancer care in the USA were estimated to be $190.2 billion in 2015 and $208.9 billion in 2020 (2020 U.S. dollars), an increase of 10 percent that is only due to the aging and growth of the U.S. population. These cost estimates include cancer-attributable costs for medical services and oral prescription drugs.
