nice to hear that playtech will play the asians at their own game. if they block the takeover then they will break up the company and sell all of it peacemeal to highest bidders so we get full value of sum of parts. Must have really p*ssed of playtech to get so stroppy.
Up 2.69% on jse at the mo. I personally keep an eye on this as i feel it gives an indication of price movement and sentiment in real time. I think the Transnet issues are the real drag on the share price as its not just the repair costs etc. but its the backlog in getting the coal to port. Thungela investor relations wont give out info. regarding thefts and delays as it is deemed sensitive info. which i understand but i get a gut feeling that they dont want to highlight it either. there was a mountain of coal backlog at the mine and as far as i can tell it hasn't improved. until this gets sorted i believe the drag will persist.
I suspect that JKO couldn't get all the figures together cash wise and Eddie Jordan was using Asians as an excuse to save face. If he was a lolly , he would lick himself. Just have to sit this out. Pure luck, but sold out of TGA reluctantly on friday and went all in on ptec. Saved a pretty penny. Taking it as a good sign..
hope you're right.. I'm worried that they block the vote and just sit tight without any announcements ,happy to let the share price drift as they know they control its eventual destiny. They're gamblers at heart and probably enjoying all the uncertainty and using it to their advantage. Twist or fold???
Playtech are already in partnership with Mr.Paul through casino Les Ambassedeurs. They provide the software for their online gambling. I see aristocrat willing to sell the asian operation as its unregulated and could be a regulatory problem, but i think its the sum of parts that is interesting everyone and is what they are playing for. God knows whats going on behind the scenes and where this could end. Not doing my ulcers any good though.
The Times have identified the ringleader of the H/K crew. He's Tom Hall a.k.a. "Hong Kong Tom" who was the ceo of Playtech when it was floated in 2006 .He personally owns 1.3% of playtech and is acting as the conduit for the asian investors. The board of Playtech have reached out to him but have hit a brick wall and admit they have no idea what their intentions are.
guaranteed that they will block the offer at £6.80 as that's when they started buying, they paid around £7.50 per share then. My guess is that they will sell to Aristocrat but exclude the unregulated asian operation which Aristocrat don't really care about and squeeze a higher price for the rest. They will have incurred some heavy costs putting this stake together so they are not letting it go cheap..JKO must have had talks with them and realized they meant business. If we sit this one out we should be well rewarded.. Just praying TGA doesn't shoot up whilst i'm out...GLA
FT says the HK crew have amassed a blocking stake of 27% of PTEC. They say they will obstruct any deal that does not meet their perceived value of the company. Spent the last few hours selling everything possible and jumping further in on PTEC.. Anybody want to buy a dog ????
Bid by JKO has to be made before 5 pm on saturday. They cannot make a bid thereafter for 6 months is my understanding. The HK crew can whenever they wish as they have yet to show their hand or any interest. The silence here is deafening and my gut feeling is that this will go to an auction. If so , the shareholders will be well rewarded for their patience and nerve. GLA
Eballs.. Don't be too smug about someone buying your shares at £6. we've all bought a dog and regretted it, like all here with this one. Don't worry , your turn will come and fully deserved it will be , ********. Remember this... Karma's a ***** and i pray it bites you in the *******s.GLA
agree with both posts below. I see the share price maintaining this level throughout its life. the divis. and the share buybacks will well compensate the shareholders. please where possible ,ensure the divis. are ringfenced in isa's as you'll be 40% better off, no brainer really. To trade this share is just casino gambling and not investing, as i told my neighbour who'll be reading this. GLA
Read somewhere a ..couple of weeks ago that they were considering buying diesel trains from china as the current ones were knackered. Still believe that china might try to take tga out and keep all the coal itself..
redbull. excellent find. didn;t realize the thefts were so prolific or so many big hitters were also using transnet. with so much at stake and so many big hitters dependent on it you would have thought collectively they could do a better job. thought drones would be a good way to help monitor movement. maybe give china some skin in the game , they'll soon cut the thefts down.
