The Hawkrock West property is a uranium exploration project located in the northeastern corner of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, Canada, an area known as the world's leading source of high-grade uranium.
Key Information
Location: The property is situated within the prospective Snowbird Tectonic Zone and is approximately 12 km west of the Hawkrock East property.
Ownership & Operation: It is currently held by a uranium-focused joint venture led by Power Metal Resources (AIM:POW, OTCQB:POWMF) and its partner Terra Critical Minerals.
Status: The property is in the early exploration stage, not a producing mine. Modern exploration is ongoing, with recent geophysical surveys commissioned to identify new drill targets.
Historical Work: Previous drilling in 1997 by D.F. Exploration Ltd. identified elevated uranium, thorium, and radiation counts in drill core samples, particularly near the Athabasca sandstone and basement unconformity. This historical data indicated prospectivity for further exploration.
Potential: The property hosts multiple untested historical conductors and elevated uranium pathfinder elements in lake sediment samples, suggesting potential for unconformity-related uranium mineralization.
