Let's, for everyone's sake, hope that energy prices don't have to factor in long term costs they cause until we've reduced our FF reliance. That would make gas even worse by comparison (or do we ignore that because the FF lobby tells us to? Can't remember 🤣)

Renewables are cheaper to produce, but in the UK, electricity prices are set by the marginal unit—usually gas. So high prices reflect gas costs, not renewable generation costs.

Still no answer about the marginal unit. Why does the market clear at the price of gas production? If it's the cheapest, why would consumer bodies want to move to a model cleared at renewable prices?

Established technology for which they already have the blueprint. Expecting a transition overnight is bonkers. But the climate fools who liked to trot that fact out 5 years ago (again, old talking points) weren't expecting them to install more renewables than the rest of the world combined, or to reach peak emissions in 2025 🤣

Fracking isn't going to happen I'm the UK to the extent that would be needed (a whole other conversation) so that is moot. It's like saying we could get our energy from fission: it might be abundant but it's not available.
