it seems to me like it would be a good time to panic. The share price has recovered somewhat, but local indonesian palm oil prices have fallen 62% according to the article. I posted elsewhere that it seemed likely that restricting exports might push local prices down. I used to hold MPE, but this episode has put me off.

The real question is whether the UK military is capable of defending the Falklands without US support. I suspect it probably could just about, but only because the Argentinian military is even more shambolic than the UK's.

It seems that some analysts have bought into the saaspocalypse idea and have lowered their price targets. The bullish one has stuck to £50. There's a wide spread reflecting the market uncertainty about Relx's prospects.

According to Factset, the average price target of 12 analysts is £35.6, lowest £28.7, highest £50.7

I have doubts about the management here. First a bullish trading update, followed by multiple large director sales at inflated prices. Then we get a more realistic update which tanks the shares.

Results seem to be in line. DAK where this website gets its info on short positions? no short positions shown on shorttracker.co.uk - info from FCA.

Chpmpg: I'm not a lawyer, but I frequently see case law cited from pre-2000. Older cases will remain relevant for a long time to come IMO.

Would be nice to see CEO and CFO back up their responses with some large buys...

Good growth, but a little below estimates. Outlook is for more of the same. Wish I could listen to the earnings call...

Interesting post ShazbotNaNuNaNu. Is it not the case that an AI Law startup would need to pay Relx a subscription to access the LexisNexis database and use it to train its LLMs? Relx could presumably refuse the access if the startup were a competitive threat. I can imagine that jobs might be lost at Relx due to AI, but that would make them more rather than less proftable. I'm not seeing a threat to Relx here. Maybe someone can elighten me?

Last Annual Report mentions the increased activity at Coringa mine. I'm guessing that's it.

Graham Neary over at Stockopedia raises the point about the large, unexplained increases in administration expenses over the last 9 months. Has anyone found an explanation?

Looks good to me, but Mr Market didn't like it. perhaps because the restructuring costs dragged the statutory EPS down to 18.3p?

I have a W8-BEN filed with iweb, but it doesn't help. IWeb say that this form applies to US listed stocks , not US stocks listed in the UK. So they have been taking 30% of my dividend. Perhaps interactive investor have a different policy.

Just wondering if any other readers hold SOM shares in an ISA at Interactive Investor? If so do they deduct 30% Withholding tax on your dividends? Did you need to fill out a W8-BEN form to get it down to 15?

I've given up with Iweb on this issue!
