Greatland Gold set to drill at big target south of Devonport

Exploration drilling at a big gold target south of Devonport is expected to start in the June quarter.

Greatland Gold is targeting what it says is potentially one million ounces of gold at its Firetower Project, about 35 kilometres from Devonport and about 65 kilometres west of Launceston.

One million ounces would be worth about $1.8 billion.

In its results report for the six months to December 31, UK-headquartered Greatland Gold said it received results during the period from a 3DIP (three-dimensional mapping) survey at Firetower.

"These results marked a significant milestone in progressing the project towards its exploration target of one million ounces of gold," the report said.

"The high-quality models generated by the survey outlined a large gold target, approximately 1000 metres long, traversing east-west and open to the east and up to depths of 400 metres

"The company expects to commence a drill program to test this large identified target in the second quarter of 2019.

"The company is also reviewing options to deploy 3DIP geophysics across the broader prospective sequence at Firetower, which has been identified over approximately 4 kilometres of strike."

The project covers 62 square kilometres.

According to the company, it "holds a portfolio of exciting projects in highly prospective geological areas with known reserves and deposits of gold and nickel".

"The company is actively developing projects in under-explored parts of these known mineralised systems."

Greatland Gold reported an unaudited operating loss of about $2.7 million for the six months.

It said it was well financed, with about $7.4 million in cash at the end of December.

It said that would allow it to have multiple targeted exploration campaigns at its key projects in the next 12-18 months.

I would give it at least another week before seeing anything. That's also halfway through March.

The last RNS was just results and we all knew most of that news anyway. Apart from indicating something might be going on in the background, there was no real reason for the sp to keep going up.

I think we can call it a delay if we get to April with no drilling news.

The application may just be that, an application with no decision. But it is the most interesting thing we have seen recently I guess.

Duel listings still align. I see it all the time with LSE & NYSE. But even if GGP go to the ASX, no real way to stop aim taking the pizz intraday.

You don't apply for a new tenement unless your going to buy it. The info is out now. This will excite more than just a few. This is significant as it means GGP will have to confirm it at some point. Would you announce a new asset before or after scheduled drilling.... Will be mighty surprised if this is not linked to the notes about assets in the recent results.

No issues here. The more that see this licence application the better it is for all of us. It's better than the usual rehashed news thats always stuck on here. This is totally new so everyone invested needs to see it. Hoping the market picks this up also, could be the catalyst we have been waiting for.

Thanks Havarti. Ultimately we are all here to pick up titbits of data, so posting that unknown info made complete sense. I 2inder if the market will pick this up, it's potentially a monster bit of news.

Amazing that nobody else spotted this application. No news on any of our other licences either. I'm not into conspiracy theories either, but we are deffo being kept in the dark. Rigs booked, but no application to drill. That itself is strange. Could HAV be sold to DDH1 with royalties?

Only thing that puzzles me now is, it is presented as Location: Dundas Mineral Field....that is absolutely Tasmania

MS. does start to look like Norseman area and not Tasmania. There could not have been any objections otherwise it would have shown up before 22/02/2019

So my guess is deal must be done, just finishing paperwork. Maybe the next RNS?

I searched the entire mining website. There is no application for new drilling at HAV and they can't just turn up and do it.

The only thing registered for GGP is that new tenement I posted

Apple, I also thought it was Tasmania, but it reads..DUNDAS SHIRE, and all web searches throw up Western Australia.

If it is actually "Shires of Dundas" that's mainly agricultural, would not make sense.

Maybe this is what was intimated in the RNS regarding assets. Strange that I could find nothing for the new drill campaign at HAV either.
