George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Nice to see a £1,000,000 buy and a sea of blue in the late trades section (but maybe as a result of the price was falling!?)

In what context? I'm guessing you mean market cap?
At present, according to Riot's website, Argo have twice their mining power and as end of H1 Riot will have 1.45EH vs Argo's 1.6EH.
Argo have exciting expansion plans for H2/2022 and an agreement for sourcing circa 50,000 bespoke miners which should put them close to Mara's huge expansion plans.
Argo also have diversified investments eg. Luxor, Pluto (25% when listed this could easily be $100m+), ZCash, BTC Hodle, Epic (test facility/partnership).
So, I think Argo is already ahead of Riot and Mara strategically.
Mara has about the same mining capacity currently, but they have a 3000 BTC hodl which is the differentiator there. They also have huge expansion plans for H2 (10Eh!?) but delivery of miners has yet to be confirmed... and given the current global shortage of chips that could be an issue.
That's the setup as far as I understand it, off the top of my head...
In summary, Argo has huge plans and could easily be valued ahead of Riot and Mara (minus hodle weighting).
The market in Germany is 7am - 9pm (UK time) see Argo here:

Agreed, there is an obvious agenda. She recognises the fact her comments influence the market as per today, serving to highlighting the volitility and in tandem she should recognise her responsibility to talk precicely about the topic.
I find it really annoying that the United States Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen should be so ill-informed with regards to the 'purpose' of BTC, ie: as a store of value.
Her comments today - "Bitcoin is an extremely inefficient way of conducting transactions and the amount of energy that's consumed in processing those transactions is staggering" could equally be levelled at gold (plus storage / security costs) but she has no benefit in questioning gold or fiat as a store of value or the stock market as highly volatile.
I don't like her mypoic view on BTC.
Nice post Rookie, amazing power vs efficiency, that means we're getter 12000+ Bitman equivalents! ;) That should be the benchmark metric, like BTC equivalent in the monthly update.
I've not seen that an ammonia cracker will be used for EE but it will be used for the Axonia trial. The beauty of ammonia is it's much easier to store and transport comparative to hydrogen and there are 3 Hydrogen atoms, NH3, so surprisingly it's much more Hydrogen rich than pure Hydrogen! It's also much cheaper to source than 3x9s hydrogen.
Has anybody mentioned the fees!? The more the bitcoin blockchain is used the higher the fees and more frequent.
Argo did not only make money from mining coins, we also receive fees (BTC equivalent), which for the purposes of the monthly update are converted into BTC.
The retirement calculation I put down came from an FA about 6 weeks ago. And it assumes that at 85 years old, the pot is still full.
For a lifestyle based on a 37k income and retiring at 55 the calculation would be 37×80%= 30 x 30 years = 900k.
We are saying the same thing! :)
Haha, good point! With the current cost of living it looks like I can retire now!!
Apparently the calculation, to retire with the same standard of living, is - sub 55 a pot of 85% of pre-retirement salary per year of retirement ie. 50-85x100k = 35×100 = 3.5m. At 55 it's 80% or 30x100 = 3m.
This makes the assumption that you want to earn money (interest 4-5%) from the pot rather than spend it. Also, people spend the pot more when young (travel, toys, holidays etc) so, if not careful they have a lot less 'pot' or the future years.
The above also takes inflation into consideration and if it's 15-20% (like now!) the above may not be enough! How much was a pint in a london pub in 1990... £1.2(?) vs £5.5!?
Correct, from 1st set of QAs. Dividends not on the immediate horizon but never say never.
My Peter Wall ARGO mug arrived on Thursday, the T-shirt yesterday and the TLAW (Whale) T-shirt arrived today! The funny think is I never wear anything branded, but couldn't resist as Blonity and Argo have presented me with life changing opportunities and decisions.
Like you RC I'm looking to 'retire' / renegotiate this year. Good job etc... but keen to give back and focus on what I do best, ideas to mvp. Anyway, the interim post-covid plan is to buy a camper and then travel/ski/hike/'surf' for a year with the wife and dog before returning to the UK with a fresh perspective, a higher ARB Sp and then move to a 'forever' home and start giving back.
Having spoken to friends the percieved retirement fund (for circa 30 years) needs to be 3+ million plus house paid off!
With luck, by the time I'm back that'll be sorted :)
Good luck to you/us all and stay humble in the face of a fortune.
During a bullrun there are fewer barriers to entry, besides access to kit at inflated prices and the need for lots of power. During the fallow times efficiency is key, as PW mentioned in one of the QA sessions. Efficiency and hie the machines are setup (cooling, % of operating capacity etc) is IP!
Access to low cost electricity keeps overheads low. Both provide long term health for miners, once the bullrun is over.
Sorry, I forget who posted this first (Friday before work) but I had a listen this morning and learnt more about this awesome company.
Enjoy!

All markets (UK, US, DE) sell shares in Argo Blockchain PLC, the UK entity. So, whilst the SP might vary a little from market to market they are essentially linked. Arbitrage may exploit difference but I wouldn't worry about that. The SP in all markets will benefit from the NASDAQ listing as there will be fewer shares to go around and a bigger audience wanting to get hold of them.
My understanding is that you can open a many ISAs as you like in one tax year BUT....you can only pay into one of them in any given year. So, 5 x ISAs would have to be paid into over 5 years. (I'm no specialist)
Thanks All - I'm still holding so have complete faith that things are moving forward nicely and I'm looking to buy more at some point. As you were :)
Good to see lots of buying, is this because of the drop or because of anticipated imminent news?
They're down 10% in Canada today
