SocGen raises BP price target to 540 (500) pence - 'buy'

Gazprom is said to be planning a rebrand of its UK energy supply business as it looks to distance itself from Putin.

Gazprom Energy, which is a subsidiary of the state-owned energy giant, is considering changing its name to GM&T, the Financial Times reports.

It comes as the company, which supplies more than a fifth of the gas used by British businesses, battles for survival in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and ensuing sanctions.

The UK had been poised to place Gazprom Energy into special administration in the case of collapse earlier this year, but its immediate survival was secured after Germany temporarily took control of parent company Gazprom Germania.
