Junk advice'
The Speaker of Iran's parliament has mocked the US over the surging oil price.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has taken aim at Donald Trump's Treasury secretary Scott Bessent, and those who "push the blockade theory and cranked oil up to $120+".
"Next stop: 140," he wrote in the post on social media.
He said the Trump administration is receiving "junk advice", and brushed off the US president's previous warning that oil infrastructure could "explode" within three days in Iran, because of backed-up supplies.
"Three days in, no well exploded," he wrote.
Ghalibaf suggested the Iranian regime is so confident Trump's claim is false that "we could extend to 30 and livestream the well here".
