Speaking of Schlumberger and faulty valves.

Thanks dunder. Was just tossing this out there after research. Wanted to know the reason for the change in tact after it was announced a compressor was being sourced. I agree, once must have the entire picture before jumping to the compressor solution. Mixed bags all around.
Speaking of news. What happened to the compression that was being sourced? Was there indeed a material impact on the 28 BCF recoverable?
Gas production from Aminex’s Kiliwani North field in Tanzania has hit a glitch caused by low reservoir pressure and inlet pressure restrictions at a gas processing plant, writes Iain Esau.
Output from the Kiliwani North-1 (KN-1) well at the field is currently below 1 million cubic feet per day and fluctuating.
After studying existing field data, London-listed Aminex believes the problem is because the well is draining only a compartment in the greater Kiliwani North structure and is exhibiting slow recharge across faults or via “tortuous pathways” in the structure.
Partner Solo Oil said it “does not currently believe that there will be a material impact on the 28 billion cubic feet of gross resources independently estimated for KN-1."
The operator is in talks with state-owned Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation to lower inlet pressure at the process plant and about the installation of compression facilities to boost production rates.
Suitable wellhead compressors are currently being sourced, said Aminex, while Solo said another option being considered is to maximise recovery of this initial well’s resources by drilling step-out prospects in the development licence after reviewing seismic data.
Kilwani North-1 was brought on stream in April last year with output in 2016 averaging 15 MMcfd.
Was compression ever installed? An announcement was made stating that compression was being sourced. I have seen some comments on this board asking how that worked out.

You’re a piece of work dude. Two type of drive mechanism. Depletion or water drive in some reservoirs. Not sure where you get off but based on your post you are either well trained or well read. I believe the latter applies. Basically some people use the term blowdown in lieu of depletion when describing the formation to capture a compartmentalizations scenario. It’s all about context which can be tough to read into a post....but you already know that. You should be an Olympic high jumper.....you’re good at jumping.....jumping to conclusions.
Agree. Lots of positive but announcing you’ve selected a rig to drill a well on a license that has not been extended does not make the needle move. Plenty of positive in the reserve reports but no cash and no license extension make this nothing but arm waving IMHO. Just spoon feeding information that could have been released earlier?
Why the disdain for people that have actually worked in this industry? Ah. Because we actually know more about the way things are normally done in the field than you do and can call BS if we spot it? I am happy to see the share price rising. Maybe something positive is afoot. Who knows?
