Vat Refund would mean a Revised profit outlook31 Mar 2026 13:15
I’m sure it is very obvious, but VAT is a large % of the price.
If we get the 70 odd million back as a rebate then that’s win no1. Win no 2 I see as the biggest. Not charging Vat allows THG to put up prices and probably still make the product cheaper to buy than before going forward. It would trigger a revision of profit consensus RNS and that my friends will be a massive Rocket to the SP.
It’s coming, it could be any day. Bit like a bid for MP, any day.
I expect MM is holding out for the VAT refund before accepting bids as it will help value the ongoing business much much higher and any takeover will have to be on par or not far from metrics used in HUEL deal.
When you think about it it’s obvious!
