Instead of an operating loss of more than 16 million euros, as expected by analysts, the online fashion retailer posted a profit of a good 4 million euros, Goldman Sachs analyst Richard Edwards said in an initial reaction, explaining the positive surprise in more detail. He, too, pointed to significantly lower expenses for marketing and administration as the main reason. Henrik Paganetty of Jefferies also pointed to positive free cash flow as good news.

I think we are likely to see 45 to 50p before the October h1 results..... Then 70 to 90p into xmas.

I don't believe we aver see the true picture of the short position anyway tbh, and I don't ever make trades based on it.

All clothing retail companies are reporting the same facts.... Improvements... Improvements... Improvements....

Boohoo's costs are coming DOWN not up.

Only a moron would try to spin that as negative....

Harwood added that even clothing retailers, which have struggled since the onset of the cost of living crisis, had returned to growth as consumers took advantage of hotter weather to refresh their wardrobes.

Barclays said spending on clothing increased by an annual rate of 4 per cent in June, the highest growth in almost a year, while the pharmacy, health and beauty sector received its biggest boost since January, with spending up 6.8 per cent.

Hey wolf - yes same on spreadbet as they're essentially lending you money for the positions.... however in the long run it saves a lot of hassle and tax... for me anyway...

I know most people only think of it as the 20 odd percent capital gains tax but if you trade regularly enough inland revenue can take you for tax as if it is a regular income.... which would take an even bigger chunk of tax if you are a higher rate payer.

He was instramental in driving boohoo from 100 million revenue to a mamath 1.9 billion business.

Hexam - the longer it bobs around here the more it seems it could have hit bottom hence adding weekly ... I see the next update showing big progress in all area's and see that being a catalyst for a big move up. That's my view.
