I’ve posted this before and it’s taken from the hot copper website but the numbers are crazy. BGS look like they have enough now for a 4mtpa plant. All we need KOD to do is release a JORC to realise are value.
Just to clear things up, when we talk 1, 2, 3, 4Mtpa plants, that number refers to the amount of ore that can be put through it over a year. BGS' stated resource of 32.9 refers to the amount of ore that it has.
For every 1Mt of ore put through a plant, you can work out the amount of spodumene concentrate you will get, by inputting the grade, recoveries and desired concentrate grade i.e. 6%. In BGS's case, the processing plant should be able to produce 190,000 tonnes of 6% spodumene concentrate for every per Mtpa of plant capacity (as per the scoping study).
This quantity will increase if grade and recoveries increase also which is great because in BGS' case, the grades & recoveries are higher at surface in the ~2% grade and ~90% recovery range at Main Zone (refer to CSA Global bulk sampling & metallurgical testing results).
Assume with further plant optimisation, that the engineers can get 200,000tpa of concentrate per Mtpa capacity, and we go with a 4Mtpa processing facility as proposed, then we end up with 800,000 tonnes of concentrate per annum.
With the cost reduction targets stated in the AGM presentation, BGS may be able to produce cheaper than $275/t.
Current Price of concentrate is over $900/t.
Therefore: ($900 - $275) * 800,000t = $500,000,000 USD EARNINGS PER YEAR.
