Dana Petroleum is going back out to its supply chain for help plotting the way ahead for a UK North Sea development project.

The Aberdeen-headquartered firm initially hoped to reach a final investment decision (FID) on Platypus in the second quarter of this year.

But the Korean-owned company placed the timeline “under review” due to the Covid-19 pandemic and future gas price forecasts.

In an update on the Oil and Gas Authority’s project pathfinder portal, Dana said it would “re-engage” with suppliers before the end of September to “understand the viability of sanctioning” Platypus in mid-2021.

Dana and partner Parkmead Group intend to develop Platypus as a two-well, subsea tie-back to the Perenco-operated Cleeton platform in the Southern North Sea.

Davde: The farm was bought in the first place because it was next to a wind farm and plans had already been passed for two turbines at Tipperty. Parkmead are not agriculture or livestock farmers so why hold onto it.
At the AGM Tom stated he had invited the Germans over to assess where would be the best place to situate future wind turbines on the hill.
What Tom was unsure of was 100% ownership of the turbines or partnership . He also mentioned he could take rental for the turbines that were staked on the hill !

Robs12 yeah ok I was referring to Tipperty only and not the remaining acreage you speak of.As you say have not heard of future planning .

Robs12 : It states 1080 acres on the UK land and farms website.
Besides it's the upper most top of the hill for the wind turbines that Parkmead are planning.
Thats why I speculated 10-15

Just had a car run over the Cairn o mount which presented a view of Tippertys Farm Hill prior to driving into laurencekirk

Parkmead only wanted the high ground (top of Hill ) of Tipperty farm for wind turbines.
They paid a very good price to secure the purchase and like any good business deal the price of the land has increased since the deal 2 years ago.

 A ‘huge’ multi-billion pound investment opportunity has opened up with the launch of Scotland’s first offshore wind leasing round in a decade, the country’s seabed regulator has claimed.

Crown Estate Scotland, who manages Scottish seabed leasing for renewable energy, has today announced the first stage of the ScotWind offshore wind leasing round.

It claims total investment in Scottish projects could surpass £8 billion.

From today, investors and developers will be able to register interest in obtaining an ‘option agreement’ with Crown Estate Scotland.

Scotland’s energy minister, Paul Wheelhouse, described the move as a “pivotal moment” in the development of the country’s offshore wind sector and an opportunity to help develop a response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
