SHARES in Hurricane Energy leapt by more than four per cent after it highlighted progress in bringing its Lancaster field west of Shetland into production. The company said well re-entry and completion operations for the Lancaster early production system (EPS) have started, under well operator Petrofac. Chief executive Robert Thrice said: “It’s pleasing to see further progress being made on another element of the Lancaster EPS. We look forward to continuing to build on our strong relationship with Petrofac and Transocean.” Shares closed up 1.94p at 47.1p.

Wellwell:::The share price would never take off if they going to use as you suggest A pump with an internal worm screw to assist the oil out. That invention went out with the Noah’s Ark. The share price is where it is because Hurricane are not producing. Surely you heard Dr Trice say that on full field development that the drill crews would have to be trained up on how to handle drilling multiple wells using proven methods that they are not familiar with ? Currently we have drilled the wells conventionally as it’s quicker and cheaper but not benifical on a mass scale .

Wellwell::: of course it’s mind blowing the pumps have been on the market for years.... But before the Electrical submersible pumps were invented the oil companies had to ditch the idea of retrieving the oil from that type of field. That issue was over come by research and development with Service companies. Now fractured basement appeared to be an issue over the years but that has been and will continue to be over come. £1 for this share is ludicrous ££2.25 minimum... Hurricane Energy know this and are holding out for maximum return !

The oil majors don’t hold the key for getting the black gold out. That position belongs to the service company’s . The share price has only dropped since the PBLJ has moved to location and remained silent. The share price also dropped when it became apparent that the PBLJ would not be on site at Lancaster on March. So the big boys have got there money still in there pockets till an anouncement !
