The Industrial Strategy Manager will lead the coordination of government’s approach to understanding and growing the shipbuilding industry, working closely with NSO colleagues and Departments across Government to tailor and refine interventions and win support for initiatives that deliver on the vision of the National Shipbuilding Strategy Refresh.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the NSO’s approach to industry engagement, including responsibility for directly servicing account management relationships with key shipyards and suppliers, alongside overall responsibility for the roll-out and running of regional employer boards.
The post holder will build relationships across a complex stakeholder environment, including the shipbuilding enterprise and ship owner community, as well as trade bodies and Government Departments with an interest. You will represent the organisation at various engagement opportunities, including conferences, round tables and working groups, ensuring the interests of UK shipbuilders are represented.
?? Offshore Renewables Sector Manager
The Offshore Renewables Sector Manager will work across the shipbuilding enterprise to secure more commercial shipbuilding orders for UK yards. With global offshore wind capacity significantly increasing in the coming decades, the demand for vessels to support the sector is also rapidly growing. You will be responsible for identifying and enacting solutions so the UK shipbuilding sector can capitalise on this opportunity, which has the potential to transform UK shipbuilding and support jobs, skills and investment around the country, in line with the National Shipbuilding Strategy Refresh.
