They have tested available antibody kits none are up to the job! They have not tested the RTU consortium test yet as its being developed specifically to be far superior to what is available!

RTU consortium is developing a lateral flow test with the help of the university of Oxford. They know the others are up to the Job thats why the best of the best are working on it design freeze next week?

Probably a PCR test, most likely NCYT's but takes about 2hrs to obtain a result so the Mologic test will revolutionise the process allowing a massive throuput compared to a PCR.

USA have said they need to do between 20-30m tests a DAY to reopen economy and get people back to work. Thats just the USA and their leading pharma test capacity doesnt touch the surface! Global demand could be pushing 500m tests a DAY!

One of the largest biotech firms manufacturing the COVID-19 test, Roche Diagnostics, said it is producing about 400,000 test kits per week. Abbott Laboratories, which has created a 5-minute test, says it plans to boost its production from 50,000 tests per day to 2 million tests a month by June and is also working to distribute about 4 million antibody tests -- which shows if someone has recovered from the virus, even people who were never symptomatic -- by the end of April and about 20 million per month by the end of June.

Also the 15-30m is just to Omega from the finncap write up on share of producing 46,000 tests a day.

PHE laboratories should migrate to a commercial assay supported by ongoing supply chain. This will 
be completed by April 23, subject to local assay verification.
PHE laboratories will each have two assays in operation and will support any uncertain results in the 
NHS and these can be referred on to the PHE RVU Reference laboratory at Colindale for further testing 
as necessary
