On numerous occasions I have noticed that some figures on the lse site are incorrect, I have just noticed that the number of posts stays the same even when the posters have posted numerous posts on the site, Very strange ??
I have noticed on numerous occasions that some figures quoted on the lse site are incorrect , I have just noticed that if you check the number of posts that some posters have posted it stays the same even though they have posted numerous times, I haven't checked them all but many have the same result ? Very strange ?
The share price of this company should be a warning that something is not right with it, Its whats called common sense in old school ? And if I see any more posts saying if they find another big stone the share price will fly I will become mentally unstable ?
This company cannot be trusted with a cash pile , This is the reason the share price is where it is, just look at the past five years accounts. sorry to be so negative but I have been a shareholder for many years and seen it all before.
Hi Dave, I'm referring to the companies attitude to shareholders over the years, when you have a chief exec ie Clifford Elphick who doesn't hold any shares in the company it must ring alarm bells .further info in my past posts.
Just noticed a very large number of buys considering this is gemd we are talking about, anyone else would go unnoticed. on an average day would be circa £5000 but today £97000 this is thought provoking, We can only wait and see ?
I totally agree with you mr bond, I have seen it said on here numerous times that if gemd find a couple more big stones the share price will fly ? They have been finding big stones for many years now and look where the share price is now. Its known in the trade as milking ? The shareholders will not benefit until the bod of gemd are replaced. Happy Christmas.
It would not surprise me if we see an rns in the very near future regarding to the reinstatement of a dividend. That would be good news.
Redwineday i think you are spot on with the latter reason, The city has been well aware of the bod priorities for many years now hence the unusual difference between the perfomace and asset figures compared with the mkt cap. The only way this is going to change is if the company is under new ownership . See my past posts ?
A company who made a profit of £74 million last year with net assets of £228 million, And yet the mkt cap of only £94 million ???? Can anyone name another company with these comparative figures.? And why? Because its been known for many years as a company that is being Milked.
The reason gemd is listed as aim or small cap is because the companies listed on the ftse 100 and 250 ,350 are not ranked on turnover or size, they are ranked on market cap which is linked to turnover and profitability but in effect its the total value of all of its shares in issue, So with regards to gemd their market cap is approx. £123 million which in todays values is a very small company, Hence listed in the ftse small cap. Then you might ask why has it got such a small market cap, This is partly due to investors not having confidence in the company now and for the future for various reasons. Please refer to recent posts on GEMD .
The chance of this company changing their ways with regards to shareholder value and return. I just think this will not happen. The only reason I brought was the longshot of a possible takeover bid. As in other hands I am sure it would be proven to be a much more profitable company than it is now. And that does not take into account finding anymore diamonds, If you know what I'm saying.
