All gone quiet on this hasn't it, i wake up everyday and turn on Bloomberg expecting to see an announcement.........off to malta friday and very nervous, do i leave my stops in place in case talks collapse, remove in case a 'tree shake' before announcement. Got stung badly on the 888 collapsed takeover, so wary here, although agree i think it will occur pending turkish deal which i think will be announced at same time as laddies offer. If they come out with an announcement 'a deal is days away' i think i'll be straight out, as thats what 888 said, in my opinion corrupt majority shareholders longing the share and then shorting when five days later they announced theyed fallen through.GL

Was 18th June -so surely this will occur soon, even the turkish negotiations have been going on a month

I agree that everything looks like its being set up for takeover, but am concerned at off loading of turkish arm to enable this, purely because it is a 'reverse takeover;, ie, company taking it over or trying to are currently valued at 35M, whilst turnkish arm valued at around 50m. So can thay actually finance this? We shall see, but no need for panic yet, and blue today....GL all

My strategy is generally to spread my investments between sectors, as they tend to move together, this sector for example is one that has been hit recently badly, Financials also particularly, so by having one investment in each works for me.

I'm very optimisitic on a takeover, after a very protracted 888 takeover failure, its highly unlikely ladbrokes would waste there time here unless they were serious and all actions of sbt appear to point to paving the way for a takeover. good luck

Not sure on South Africa, My point bud, was more that in these less politically correct countries they can do anything, hence my nervousness with the poss gov intervention,luckily it was not to extreme of SA govt yet As i say, i sincerely hope for all invested that these fly and that today marked the end of the possible market nervousness. .

what a load of tosh, poeple questioning why you post here, goes back to what i said before, some people think these boards are just to make you feel good by constantly saying 'these will fly soon ' etc, fact - if you are in a share you will always be more positvie towards it, fact if you are not, you will be more cautious, are people really stupid enough to think that someone ramping or ramping on these boards will make any difference to the markets - of course they dont, and for a board to be an effective discussion area we need those in and out. I was in these long term, but sold like you as the gov news unnerved me, i do think people are naive though to think the kaz govt will pay top notch for gold on their own soil, they have a major hold over hmb and can probably change legislation to suit, look at south africa two weeks ago nationalising all the mines in one single announcement. I hope we will have news on this board soon to confirm that normal sale prices will definitely apply or clarification of the situation, once this occurs i will hopefully get back in, but until then still nervous.As said before if the press office was any good they would have done this by now, but unfortunately my experience with them is they don't give a monkeys about the small investor!

Hardly a deramp from Londonhunter, thats the problem with some people on these DISCUSSION boards, say one negative thing about a share you own and they bite your head off. A ramp or deramp is normally very obvious like' quick get on ABC board these are about to fly!', far from what WLH said. I up to yesterday was with Budsy and in for long term, however this news spokked me after seeing the south african situation last week, thus i have now sold all my holding yesterday, just don't like any prospect of government intervention. I may rue this in a week and for those still holding i hope i do, but for now it appears the right decision. Do totally agree with Kevin though, there press office is flaming useless or in particular there investor relations officer. Good luck all

I think if you emailed there press officer, your questions would be answered, when i asked where drill reports were a week after they were overdue his reply was arrogant and bordering on the rude 'why do you people....' it started. Maybe if they had a press officer who wasn't such an arrogant fck and actually sold the company to the markets we may have an improved SP. But for now we'll just have to rely on the actual results. I see more tumoil in europe coming and this should rally gold and hopefully our share rice further even before results...........

Wow, how relieved am i that the majority of my holding was in this share, shame its not gone up with the gold price, but hey, its only gone marginally down. Now new mine is good in principle, however they often bring production problems, so like the city i will hold my optimism down for that for now,however overall things are looking good, just a shame they don't have a media dept that shouts about the share, but instead gives patronising answers when investors ask them questions.

I posted for you as i wondered if you'd ever looked at HMB, Hambledon mining - GOLD - despite the recent gold price hikes, gold miners have not risen with them - strangely - I'm in reasonable big on these and they meet your investment criteria. In the past they have always disapointed the city with there projections, but in the last quarter this year they are adding to there surface mine with a deep mine, which they forecast could quadruple there production to 100,000 onces a year, currently around 24,000 a year. The drill results for the deep mines have been better than expected, many brokers have tipped them of late for a target price of 11p, currently 4p. However given past disappointments i don't think the city will buy in until we get actual results, meaning buy in price is still good. With Gold likely to continue to rise I personally see this company as a good investment with an excellent risk reward ratio, i'll be out at 9p, may have to wait till Jan to get it, but i feel this company might have finally turned the corner. As i say, thought of you as i know his is the type of return you look for, gold is definitely there, mine expected life is 25yrs. regards BOB

My understanding is HMB have made numerous promises to the city before then let them down, hence i think your right, we'll need concrete evidence of succesful deep mine to see share price rise significantly.

Article in Mail that theres a shareholder revolt going on over chairman and strategic plans and they also have major cash generation problems and liquidity issues, analyst predicts shares could halve like cable and wireless worldwide did. (excuse fundamental info TA guys! lol). shares currently 37p
