Interesting yes, but I believe promissory estoppel would automatically fall into the NY law wrapper when it refers to a listing, and then expropriating a company on the NYSE; that it needn't necessarily point religiously at NY law, because the listing does that anyway.

Have a look at the YPF share price since nationalisation too see the scale of the injustice done to the plaintiff and in turn Burford investors - can that really be allowed to stand, not to mention the precedent? That two guys can undo Preskas many years of diligence is an affront.

How much of that 500m is left as of now? Would a new case moratorium and run off keep within the future covenants? Back of the envelope says it probably would.

Bogarts reputation is even more in the dirt than post muddy waters from the results narrative - quite how they ended up unpaid in the proteins case I do not know and I wonder as to the structure of their contracts - proteins has led then a merry dance from the start. Someone out there will be better at managing recoveries than him, so a buyout is possible soon I guess, the narrative was so bad as to either look incredibly incompetent, or sabotage....

Not familiar with Sven, but even discounting the sorry hard luck stories at the results, he still regards Burford as a good value proposition at the current price.

A client of Trump could exert immense influence with Burfords portfolio.
