Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Rockfire Resources plc (LON: ROCK), the gold and base metal exploration company, is pleased to announce that an initial phase of Reverse Circulation ("RC") drilling has commenced at the Company's 100% owned Plateau Gold Deposit ("Plateau"), part of the Lighthouse tenement in North Queensland, Australia.
Highlights:
· 6 x RC drill holes, for approximately 1,000 m of drilling
· This first phase of RC drilling aims to define additional gold close to surface at an area called the "Central Breccia" and especially within the top 100 m
· A second aim of this phase of drilling will test mineralisation down to 200 m in areas where drilling is sparse, to increase confidence in gold grade to these depths
· Demand for drilling rigs in Queensland is high and the Company is delighted to have successfully secured a drill rig whilst the region is experiencing these levels of high demand
· The market will be informed of the progress during this initial drilling phase and the anticipated timing of follow-up drilling to test deeper in the gold system
David Price, Chief Executive Officer of Rockfire commented:
"It is pleasing and exciting for drilling to be underway again at Plateau. Our gold model for Plateau is based on the Mt Wright Gold Mine, approximately 50 km to the northeast of Plateau. At this mine, approximately 1.5 Mozs of gold has been mined down to 1,200 m from surface. This initial drilling phase is expected to result in a greater understanding of the near-surface gold, which in turn is expected to lead to more accurate targeting for planned deeper drilling.
The situation with COVID-19 in Australia means that the Company will maintain strict social distancing protocols on site during the drilling campaign. This is demonstrated by the drilling contractors and Rockfire personnel establishing separate camps and introducing updated Health and Safety procedures in accordance with Queensland Government current pandemic regulations."
Hi Tom,
Yes latest copy (ie. updated 2 weeks ago). Posting for all those who missed, sorry for any confusion!
Attached is the latest copy of Rock’s company/new investor presentation, in advance of the AGM in 2 days (12th June):
https://www.rockfireresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Rockfire-Presentation_20200501_latest.pdf
- Rockfire team onsite at main site (Plateau) and ready to get the drill bit turning and start the next campaign
- More director buys
- Gold prices still rising
- New rock sampling results return high levels of gold assays and identify new targets at Lighthouse tenement
GOODLUCK team!
Afternoon Rockers!!
Hope you are all keeping well amongst these crazy times. Thought I’d drop in as this is starting to feel like a bubbling pot that’s is about to explode! Business as usual for our DP, providing a constant feed of AMAZING news as and when it lands.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS:
9th June 2020:
- 3D magnetic imagery confirms a gold target down to and beyond a depth of 600 m
- The reprocessing confirms a steep easterly plunge of the low-magnetic mineralised rhyolite host
- A rolling, north-south change in dip direction has been revealed
- A potentially mineralised "off-shoot pipe" has been identified at depth in the southwestern corner of the rhyolite
- Rockfire field crew is now on site at Plateau and preparing for the start of drilling. The objective of this drill programme is to in-fill gaps in the drilling data within the top 200 m and to test for gold mineralisation down to a depth of 500 m below surface.
- The market will be informed once drilling commences
1st June: Lighthouse proving to be significantly under-explored with rock samples returning gold assays up to 23.4 g/t Au. The highest-grade rock samples include:
- 23.4 g/t Au
- 7.3 g/t Au
- 5.8 g/t Au
- 4.5 g/t Au
- 3.6 g/t Au
- 0.9 g/t Au
However, DP confirms that focus remains very much on Plateau, which continues to produce outstanding gold results.
Drilling prep at Plateau making good progress:
- landowner access and compensation agreements renewed
- drilling quotes obtained from drilling contractor
- individual drill sites surveyed
- access earthworks complete
- drone-hosted photogrammetry flights flown and processed
- Rockfire field crew on site preparing for the start of drilling.
21st May 2020: NED options granted to Nicholas Walley, Patrick Elliott and Ian Staunton; exercisable at 2p
20th May 2020: Director buy (Nicholas Walley - NED)
15th April 2020: Director buy (David Price – CEO)
28th April 2020: Identification of rocks which bear highly anomalous nickel, cobalt, gold, platinum, and palladium. Potentially representing a whole NEW mineralised system, only 2 km from Plateau. · Rock samples have returned peak values of:
- 1.0 % Ni (nickel)
- 0.2 % Cu (copper)
- 510 ppm Co (cobalt)
- 0.8 g/t Pt (platinum)
- 0.5 g/t Pd (palladium)
- 0.1 g/t Au (gold)
The SP has slowly started to creep up off the back of a few sizable buys today. Can’t help but think that the pot is poised to blow imminently! EXCITING TIMES!!! GLA!!!!
Hello all,
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but saw that Sierra’s Chief Development Officer Dr Barbara Klencke (the person who purchased $100k odd of Sierra shares not too long ago, before the reverse split) has been granted 167k of options at $13.31:

Also, sierra’s Chief Financial Officer, Jagpal Sukhi, has been granted 94k options at the same price:

NT to buy just £1000’s worth but MM’s will take all of my 1.65m holding...
Enjoy it Tom! First year I have actually participated (fully!) in Dry Jan! So I'll have to wait until tomorrow for that ale!! ;)
Thanks Tom, have a great weekend too :)
Guys. Just checking EVERYONE is aware that today's RNS are NOT the results of the most recent Jan 2020 drilling campaign. They are Multi-element X-ray Florescence (XRF) analysis results of drill chips from samples collected in October 2019.
Lots more news flow to come and today we got confirmation that even more samples being sent off to the lab...
Out of auction now, 1.275 paid...
HAHA BoardsOfUK! You never know! ;)
Jokes aside, the RNS does state that as well as up to 2 ounces/tonne of SILVER, they found " elevated and anomalous ZINC and LEAD.
Adding yet more strings to ROCK's bow!
Also, more results being sent to the lab as we speak :)
Gold, Copper and Silver now :)
More unexpected, yet excellent news!!
GL Rockers!
For anyone that missed it, here is the comparison of "extensive sulphides" intersected during the Oct 19 drilling campaign vs the "strong sulphides" intersected during the Jan 20 drilling campaign:
OCT 2019:
* A 215m deep hole (BPL025) successfully encountered an extensive sulphide zone within a large-scale chargeable IP anomaly
* The broad sulphide zone in BPL025 occurs between 74m and 215m downhole (141m length)
JAN 2020
* Drilling has intersected broad sulphide intervals, including a strong sulphide zone (up to 50%) over several metres
* All drill holes encountered broad intervals of sulphides, including a zone of strong sulphides (up to 50%) encountered in one hole at a downhole depth of 84m
Lets not forget how the SP reacted when the results of the OCT 19 drilling campaign came back. Latest drilling has encountered up to a 100% increase in sulphide intervals (from 25% to 50%)
GLA
Apologies, that should of read “yesterday’s RNS”
Today’s RNS has revealed, in some cases, up to a 100% increase in encountered sulphides since the drilling campaign of Oct 2019. In that program they encountered broad sulphide intervals of up to 25%. In the most recent drilling program (Jan 2020), they intersected intervals of up to 50%.
A few people seem to be confused on this board, either that or they have not read the RNS. To confirm, the results of the most recent drilling campaign (In which all all drill holes returned broad intervals of sulphides) have NOT been released. The drill samples are on their way to the lab, with results confirmed to be returned at any point in the next few weeks.
Also, to address another point, the wet season in N. Queensland historically ends towards the end of Feb/early March
Care to explain why you keep coming back to the ROCK board then Zwart?
Great RNS indeed!
* Drilling completed ahead of schedule and prior to the rain
* Drilling completed in budget
* 6 holes drilled rather than the initially projected 13: this was due to the company seeing reasoon to drill deeper to test the geo chargeable response
* ALL drill holes encountered BROAD intervals of sulphides
* One drill zone encountering a strong sulphide hit of up to 50%
* samples on their way to the lab for analysis
* results due back soon (weeks not months), with the company advising that they will keep the market update on progress
* Company have stated that yet another drilling campaign will recommence "at the conclusion of the wet season".
The wet season in N Queensland generally runs until the end of Feb. So not long to wait! Looking at timings, it appears ROCK are hoping to get the results from this drilling campaign out and then get the rigs straight out there! Great stuff!
Lots of news in the pipeline then! Not to mention the results from the outstanding analysis, sampling and tests, which are due imminently!
GLA!
FYI: the MM's will take all my 1.7 mill shares but I can't get a quote for just £500 on Hali
