RE: Talking to themselves16 Jan 2026 12:47
FWIW, I was calling SOH out on SP (as an observer) long before the penny dropped for TW. And I was calling the Lemming out as Ashman's long-winded stooge long before TW's big bust-up with him. He seemed incapable of asking the incisive questions that most of us wanted answered, and far too willing to accept whatever answer Ashman fed him rather than risk a penetrating follow-up question. And on the rare occasions when Ashman was in useful flow, Eldric always seemed to jump in and switch the discussion to safer waters. For me, too much time in the interviews I saw was filled by Eldric's unnecessary ramblings/theories, leaving not enough time for Ashman to speak. In short, I think he was trying to make himself the star of the show.
But Eldric is a self-styled genius who doesn't take kindly to constructive criticism, hence he sends his troops out to try to wreck other forums. He was deluded to think he would be able to preserve his "shareholders' champion" persona by encouraging Ashman to remove the re-election resolutions from the AGM agenda; or perhaps he is simply lacking in self-awareness. I see too many signs in him of the immature BBM mentality which has spread here and elsewhere. But presumably his subscribers are of like mind so none of that matters as long as no-one else gets hurt. I'm not even sure what his qualifications are for styling himself the way he does. His trade appears to be repairing one-armed bandits, which I'm told, he is still licensed to do by the Gambling Commission.
I would happily ignore the man (except when he or his hit squad infiltrate this forum to make trouble); but that is the last thing he wants. He thrives on conflict, needs to be part of the conversation and throws his toys out of his pram frequently in petulant attempts to raise his profile.
He won't even let his war of words with TW fade into history - despite having allegedly unsubscribed from SP. To this day, his ramblings - and those of his artificial psycho-pet - are filled with obsessive attacks on TW. And he seems to be oblivious to the fact that no-one cares. Perhaps they are just useful fillers in between occasional stock commentaries.
