RE: Askari likely to lose overpegged areas9 Dec 2025 23:43
@Robjm66 - The thing you have to bear in mind, Is that the CEO of this company is a complete idiot.
While lounging on a sun lounger in Cyprus, he has failed to build the relationships required to demonstrate that he will treat the people who may need to be moved for further mining expansion well.
He hasn’t spent time demonstrating a world class approach to environmental and community management which would give them confidence in awarding him with licenses.
Licenses which would provide a 5% free carry to the government, huge tax receipts, significant local and regional employment and prosperity, and generate revenue probably by asking the company to purchase the licenses.
He is such an idiot, that he hasn’t taken the time to get to know establishment, to win friends and influence people, to be proven a trustworthy individual time and again, to do things properly where others would cut corners.
And failed to invite the government and local investors to be a part of the success story of the first industrial commercially financed mine in decades.
It puts us in a very precarious position, where we probably won’t get the mining licenses, nor benefit from being able to exploit them from all of the free cash flow we would’ve got from this exceptionally lucrative starter project, and turn $1 billion company into a multi-$Bn company.
None of this will happen now.
What a waste of money paying him not to do it.
Shame 🤪
