The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Exactly sir. Patience is the key.
Sadly, there are people here allowing their emotional side of their brains to prevail instead of allowing their logical brains to do the thinking. If you look long-term, and for once, control the need for instant financial gain or gratification, then this share will come trumps and decisively deliver for its shareholders once it comes to market.
It just stands to reason, as sagely pointed out by this poster. Besides, it is already proven to be highly efficacious and safe, and will, no doubt, be approved and used as an important multi-purpose drug in the field of respiratory medicine for decades to come.
So, simply, think long-term, sit back and just let the passage of time tip the scales back into our favour, and then watch the plunder roll into your hands.

Please look at the CNN INTERVIEW.....it is more or less there according to medical director, Joe Fitchett
Approval could happen at any time.

This massively raises Omega's profile in the investment and world and in the public too...
Exciting times for Colin King...
Amazing how OMEGA is now linked with this effort!

The Mologic partnership is massive... this will be rolled across the world as a gold standard test..surely?
Interestingly, how Mologic chose OMEGA rather than the other non-listed diagnostics firms- shows confidence in this Scottish company.
Very positive... more importantly a much needed test will be commercialised very soon.
"Although omega diagnostics are preparing to support Covid near person testing we must not forget the massive numbers who die from HIV AIDS every year in developing countries where this near patient test could play a vital part in monitoring

As mentioned by others, they have more strings to their bow. .. and we shall also be reminded of that soon.
Remember they are waiting for another approval from the Chinese regulator for their 'self-test' version of their Food Detective allergy test. ( self-tests are designed for the mass market- easily done at home with instant results just like the antibody test).
Without a doubt, CO-VID 19 has ushered in a new era. People around the world will become more and more conscious of monitoring their health, and the demand for any kind of easy to use self-tests will be massive. Omega will be well-position to be part of that growing trend.
Antibody test aside, I expect a stream of news on their African operations( Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa) and the Chinese approval update with potential orders for their novel food allergy test.

If you look at governmental and official websites, the focus of every state whether it is here, in the USA and or in Europe is STILL the development of a reliable antibody test despite what the WHO said yesterday. I think their statement was more about reminding the public that there is still a lot of we don't know about CO-VID 19 rather than telling the policy makers something new.
Of course, there are unanswered questions like " How long does immunity last?" and "Can you get reinfected after having it?".
Interestingly though, the view taken by Dr Fauci , Simons Stevens (head of the NHS) and many other national regulators is that antibody testing is the only way forward now to fully to answer critical questions about where the coronavirus is and how prevalent it is.
Please look at the Downing Street Conference today and watch at 30 minutes and 40 seconds where Simon Stevens mentions that antibody testing is the best strategy to manage this outbreak.
So against this background, millions and millions of tests will be needed here and across the world as testing for antibodies can only answer critical questions about where the coronavirus is and how prevalent it is. That information can then help officials plan how to let normal lives resume — but across populations as a whole, rather than one person at a time.
(antigen testing can't do that)
Worth remembering too Oxford University research with the best people is part of this consortium and will help create the science behind it and validate any test to make sure it meets the required standard.
Roll on the RNS...

They are mentioned as being one of the "major key players " alongside the more familiar names in the global allergy market, anticipated to be worth 8.6 billion dollars by 2026.
And remember too, Colin King only recently announced approvals in China for their "Food detective allergy test" and in Nigeria for their VISITECT® CD4 350 (instrument-free test and approved by WHO) for people living with HIV.
Both are massive markets in their own rights. (Apparently more updates about that to come)
Going places either way. Exciting times for them.

Quite simply there are still a lot of unknowns about CO-VID 19. The WHO are just making that clear by covering their bases, and quite rightly so, given their recent criticism of how they first handled the outbreak.
However, what they are saying is not new.
Researchers and scientists have already highlighted the fact that having immunity doesn't necessarily mean we are out of the woods. However, there is a worldwide consensus across all governments and research centres that these tests are still seen as a path back to normality.
Here is some excellent commentary from the respected WebMD website that explains what is at stake with antibody testing (link to full article below):
"Experts say these antibody tests, in the short term, can answer personal questions, like, “Was I infected?” It will take much longer to answer questions such as, “How long will immunity last after infection?” and societal ones, such as, “How dangerous is COVID-19 really?”
And until we know the answer to those questions, we won’t really know the true value of having antibodies. While experts agree it doesn’t mean our lives will completely revert to the way they were before, the tests can help us get on that path."

Just to add further comment on the RNS:
They are talking about their next process- it is end of the last stage before handing over to manufacturing.
During development (of almost anything) it is always possible to keep researching, tinkering, trying to make improvements, etc. So, in any industry, there will be several stages of development: specification (define exactly what the product is), design (work out how you are going to make it), implementation (actually create the first version of the product), test (make sure it works) etc.
Each of these needs to stop at some point before the next can start (in reality, they overlap and you move back and forth between them). So, at some point, the project manager will say that the specification is "good enough" and it is time to move on the next stage.
So just to recap, the CEO's "design freeze" statement means that they have come up with something they think is good enough - further work will just take time and not add significant value - and at that point, the design will be shared with other companies to ramp up manufacturing in volume.
Just some facts from the The Telegraph (9th April online version) stating this consortium seems to have the know-how in delivering an accurate test. And one can only assume the professor, Sir John Bell, must be working in close collaboration with Omega and the partners in this consortium.
This is my reading of the article but please feel free to draw your own conclusions and comment if you agree.
" One consortium which experts are particularly optimistic about is a group of life sciences companies which are based in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland respectively.
Abingdon Health, BBI Solutions, CIGA Healthcare and Omega Diagnostics on Wednesday evening announced they were working with Oxford University on developing an antibody test, and had received government funding to do so. "
Let's see what the developments are next week. Will be interesting.
I'll keep your eye on the prize and ignore the daily fluctuations. ...patience is a virtue as they say.

All in probabilities, yes.
Logic dictates that the government must have surely chosen the most capable companies in the UK in order to produce a much needed reliable antibody test. And no doubt during that initial meeting the companies and the scientists involved gave assurances that they will be able to deliver in quick time. Former chief medical officer of Scotland has already confirmed this in his media interview last week saying said they are just tweaking the stage of the test.
Could be be available within 2 weeks. It needs to be.The stakes are too high for it not to. Our GDP is shrinking while unemployment increases by the month. The economy needs to reopen fast.
And these guys be will play a big part in it.
Could be by the next Friday if RNS pops up.
There is a great urgency for these companies to deliver and the government would not have brought them together if they couldn't. Surely?
This is not about discovery - this is about pooling all the available talent and resources together to make this happen quickly, for which our government deserves credit.
Oh yes. Forgot that. The head of the CDC criticize America's existing antibody test.
Major implications then for sales here and the world beyond!
Keep your eye on the prize and don't get distracted. Good luck
Forgive me f this is obvious but just to make this clear:
antigen test: to see if you have the virus
antibody test: to see you have immunity to it
AVCT (antigen test) still 7 or 8 weeks away (takes 8-12 weeks to make their reagents (according to their website)
NCYT (antigen test) is not what the government wants now. Their focus is the antibody test is and the " wristband immunity status" , Clearly this has nothing to do with NCYT and AVCT antigen tests.
ODX (ANTIBODY test) no else in the UK is producing it ..."weeks aways" as cited by Sir Harry Burns CMO of Scotland
Omega with their partners are on the verge of producing a "dipstick" style test like their pregnancy tests found on the shelves of pharmacies. So no medical analysis needed.
Share price next week could be double or triple with announcement in my view. Just need to sit tight and have discipline.
Good luck.
*alluding
This interview given by the former chief medical officer, Sir Harry Burns, says the test is only a few weeks away. This interview was on the same day as last week's RNS regarding the MOU. Clearly, one would think the gentleman is alluded to the 4 companies which the government has instructed to develop this test.
Also, the fact that he says the test is in "final checks" is telling. This will supersede the antigen test as the CDC in the US and PHE here know the antibody test is key to reopening any economy.
