The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Love it.
In a dry and boring report, Murray brightens it up with some humour.
It was a bit naughty, but no doubt true.
Did you notice, in his first sentence on his very brief commentary on the results, he refers to Looney the previous chief exec, and says.........
'Looking back, 2023 was a year of strong operational performance with real momentum in delivery right across the business'.
He just missed out the final word, which was girls.!!
800%!!!???!!!.
Whilst the rise has been good, it's not that good!! Also, it's mostly made up for a significant earlier drop.
Typical lazy, sensationalism from a journalist.
How do they get away with writing such twaddle.
Hopefully, his 800% is correct by end of year.
I feel there is more to go over time, but the results may be baked in already. Unless they are really outstanding.
@Database.
Thanks for your polite and constructive response to my post 09.27ish, yesterday.
Apologies for delayed response, don't bother reading here too much these days.
I haven't averaged down since i've already over committed here (yes, my fault). I look upon putting more in here, as good money after bad.
It would take a huge amount of wonga to have averaged down to these levels with the track record of the SP over last 4 years.
For my sake, and many others, i hope your optimism over a sale is accurate. Personally, i think the deafening silence from the directors, speaks volumes of the path ahead.
As a minimum, the directors should be communicating with Sh's (the owners), whilst drawing their large salaries. Instead they install some unheard of firm, who they hide behind.
Poor show, all round.
I will continue to hope that your views come to fruition.
Thanks for posting Saint68.
Sadly, i agree with other replies... Just fobbed off with generic responses.
Did you overlook question 15, Saint?
Q15). Would you like me to f off.
A). Yes please.
On a more serious note.. I just think we are lumbered with radio silence from a directors whilst they just slowly (or rapidly) extract cash from the company, through their remuneration.
I wish i'd never got involved here with this cloak and dagger operation, but like many others am stuck here with a massive loss.
How do some people, sleep at night?
Lincolnite.
Not sure you are quite correct.
The existence of a cathedral has historically been present within properly bound cities.
It is only latterly that a town has been able to apply, given certain criteria, to be granted city status by the monarch.
Hence we have 'secondary' cities. They fail with the history and standing though.
Bit like polytechnics have now become second rate universities.
You, presumably, hail from/in Lincoln, which enjoys being a proper city.
Hope that clears up the criteria.
All depends on the place in question.
Norwich and Leicester are both a city.
Nottingham isn't.
City status used to be guided by the presence of a cathedral.
If no cathedral, tends to be a town.
However, since nothing can be left untouched nowadays, there are now exceptions to that general rule.!!
Agreed, it wasn't all Looney.
But, it sounds like there were plenty of times, when he was in the office, that he didn't have his 'eye on the ball'
I feel the current concerns supressing SP are 3 fold:
i) No natural succession plan. Important for any company.
ii). Time taking to appoint.
iii). Concern that the company may appoint 'son of Looney'. Auchincloss is not the man for the job, imo. Company needs new blood. Rolls Royce have cracked it, with an 'over-looked' BP man!!
That said, the longer this saga continues the less likely Auchincloss will get the job.
Until CE is settled, SP will drag.
Return of a decent dividend would help. However, likely to plod on with it well below historical levels, and a 5% annual increase.
I think the markets have already packed up for the year.
The overall trading volume has dropped significantly.
I think badgerbeard will be buying more shares at a lower price.
We are already on the downslope.
Expectation for the release has runaway on this board.
Hope, i'm wrong. Since, i'm already in the red on with these shares.
If it were positive, makes sense, as mentioned by others, to leave it until trading properly resumes in early Jan.
As SD is adamant..ish, that it will be released this year, i fear it is being slipped out whilst no-one is looking when the market is extremely quiet.
Why would that be? Since, it's going to be a disappointment.
Hopefully, i'm wrong and it's a crymbo cracker. However, i have a nasty feeling about this release if indeed it is this side of 2024.
Was a £1M buy back expected, or did it come out of the blue?
I don't recall reading anything about it.
Is it a one-off, or the start of a trend.
It helped the SP y'day.
Whatever happened to all those great little cartoons.
Tom and Jerry, Daffy, Roadrunner, etc, etc.
Harmless and amusing with up-lifting bit of music.
Whilst, i'm on it. I should start a 'bring back Top Cat' campaign. Sensational cartoon.
Don't tell me none of the great cartoons are PC in this over controlled life we live in.
Aah mystic.
You are failing to recognise realistic optimism.
As opposed to wayward ramping which may be your default position?
Marketduster and Sprint. I hope you both correct. I just feel the market may have got carried away with the SP of late.
Buy the rumour, sell the fact.
I hope i'm proved wrong.
I'm usually naturally optimistic.
However:
I have a feeling that tmw may turn out to be a damp squib, and the SP will suffer.
I do hope i'm incorrect, and the more realistic expectations shared here come to fruition.
Time will tell.
Presumably, as RR are 'doing their stuff' in the afternoon, it will be Weds before any reaction is shown in the market.
@Rooky,
Firstly, many thanks for all your endeavours here, it is much appreciated.
Turning to your post:
I had exactly the same sentiment in a reply from the FSA (over a different company).
I replied to them, in the same terms as you did.
Sadly, a complete waste of time.
They fob you off, with platitudes.
Basically saying 'f off' without using the words.
Or,
'How dare you have the audacity to trouble us when we are really busy, and you are a mere nobody'.
Dare i say, they are probably complicit in the whole manipulation shenanigans.
Does any-one know who polices the regulatory authorities?
