Glandore, it's nothing to do with emotion, I am invested because of facts and I disagree with your "low volume" comment
A few examples
1) Best selling vehicle in US for last 4 decades, the exact opposite of low volume
2) Best selling OEM in Europe and largest DMS design win announced to date
3) Shell as a fleet customer
I could give many more examples, but those are the 3 I use when explaining SM to people
Rat, we of course have a design win with a small European OEM called the VW Group
I think people are being a bit harsh on the marketing dept.
In my opinion a great job is done, he turns up here everyday day and slogs hard, gets paid less than a junior doctor and never goes on strike.
Give TerryM a break, he is doing his best.
2030, we know the industry is secretive and OEM's don't shout about suppliers, when one buys a Mach-E you don't get an explanation of who supplies the various parts, its a Ford car so its all Ford regardless of who supplies.
What is important is the vehicle is selling in the UK with the ability for bluecruise, so will add to our cars on the road and most importantly we get paid per unit. Historically Ford have sold very well in the UK until recently the Fiesta was the best selling car in UK for many years.
There appear to be strong benefits from linking to fleet management systems that allow drivers struggling with fatigue to be identified and helped with softer interventions rather than just in-cab warning. = Guardian
From the detailed report issued by ncap today;
Occupant status monitoring
Inattentive driving is a major contributory factor to serious collisions of all types and heavy trucks are no exception. Truck drivers can be distracted and are more frequently impaired by fatigue. Systems that use cameras to monitor the driver, identify inattention and take action to reduce the risk, are being brought into Euro NCAP’s passenger car rating and will be mandatory from 2026. There may be scope to encourage earlier fitment and exceed the regulatory standard, particularly in a professional driving context. There appear to be strong benefits from linking to fleet management systems that allow drivers struggling with fatigue to be identified and helped with softer interventions rather than just in-cab warning.
Great to see confirmation of NcAP working with SM to define their assessment of in cabin monitoring systems

We have been mining gold (data) for years, now we are helping NCAP decide how to grade the gold.
4p or 6p males no odds to me, I don't trade SM, I just buy and hold.
The daily sp doesn't impact my investment thesis, have a look at who Dr Mike is meeting in Japan and JT in the US.
SM are writing the rules for the regulators, it's a once in a lifetime share.
As for talk of a 20p takeover, not a chance.
I will continue to hold and be wrong until the day I am right.
After over 10 years invested and literally thousands of hours of research I have sold all my SM shares and invested in SEYE.
Looking forward to watching more progress from Martin and Rana as you guys all wait in hope of wins that never arrive.
This sounds like SM to me...

""Artificial intelligence is helping militaries train their pilots in a more efficient way," Marc-Olivier Sabourin, vice president of CAE's global defense and security arm, told Nikkei Asia in an interview in Tokyo. Inside a CAE flight simulator, "the digital coach has access to biometrics, such as pulse rates, and where the students' eyes look when they are in the ****pit," Sabourin said."
I will judge Pmc on his success in moving the business forward and increasing shareholder value, even if the SHV often lags the execution of his strategy.
I don't care how he spends his own money, he can exercise his options if he likes but it doesn't make any difference to me, he may take a leaf out of George Bests book.
""I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."
I make it £368k for Mr Ive, which is ~A$650k.
5.2m shares average price paid was 6.66p
Soul, you may have exercised and sold in the past, but I assume you were not the CEO of a listed business, its not a good look if he exercises just to make a small gain, either exercise and hold or don't exercise in my view.
I doubt he would take up his options unless he plans to hold onto them.
For those of a more positive disposition good news on todays budget.
The pension lifetime allowance cap has been removed, previously one would have had to pay 55% tax above £1.07m.
Not an issue for me personally today, but one day will make a nice difference
I think people are getting a little confused
Paul has a pretty standard remuneration package made up of
- salary
- annual incentive plan (cash or shares)
- Long-term performance related shares, 5m per annum over 5 years, based on annual target (July 23 target is 11.9p)
- share options (12m at 4.41p)
So he hasn't directly given up 50% of his salary, he has a balanced package with the long-term shares aligned to shareholders as he needs to hit SP targets.
In terms of him buying shares, the first thing I would imagine he would do is exercise his options, which he has until end June to do so or he losses them.
"Mr McGlone has been issued 12,000,000 share options in the Company vesting on 1 July 2022
(Options). Once vested, the Options entitle Mr McGlone to subscribe for, acquire and/or be
allocated shares for an exercise price per share of 4.41 UK pence. Mr McGlone must exercise the
Options within one year of the vesting date otherwise the Options will lapse."
Fleet larger opportunity than Auto
" I'm not an expert on fleet or telematics, but the opportunity for Guardian looks larger than in automotive. As always, the real development is taking place far away from where everyone is looking."
