The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Do we need to be a little bit cautious? Everyone seems to be concentrating on the first part of the RNS but little said about the last paragraph :
'Finally, the Company regrets that it is engaged in a dispute, disclosed to lenders prior to signing, over a significant invoice from a financial service provider (not the Company's Nomad or Broker) and has sent a letter before action in respect of the same. In the opinion of the Board, properly advised by legal counsel, the net claim is unlikely to be material.'
How can we find out just how significant this 'significant invoice' dispute is?
CynderLad the RNS that I read was on the lines of questions only being about the two issues to be voted on. All other questions would be disregarded. I had plenty of questions to put, indeed I have sent emails to UKOG with the questions in the past few months. Answer came there ..... none! When you repeatedly bang your head against the wall and it hurts, it is best to stop banging it!
I get a sense the BOD are saying trust us and all will be okay. A bit like last year. Perhaps they can't say too much about some aspects without showing their hand. For example the mystery £500k inputs. Quite a chunk when compared to revenues. Does BIDS have a generous aunt who pops a cheque in the post from time to time or have they been putting a few quid on the horses when they get a good tip? I'm joking of course but it is all a bit cloak and dagger. It is good to see they have no debt but there is little doubt in my modest view that we shall see a placing from the comments made. I will hang in here but I don't expect massive news until they start to gain more traction and, dare I say it, better connectivity with some big players who want to place advertising via this new medium. Looking forward to how it all unfolds.
Hi Markyess. My Calidus shares are held in a SIPP with Hargreaves Lansdown. Since this change to the ASX S&P the share price and holding value no longer show on my portfolio. I know this has happened to others too.
I contacted HL and they said that due to the shares trading on the ASX the prices were no longer 'pulled through' by the third party supplier - HSBC. I pointed out that as far as I know the shares had always been traded on the ASX and that had always been the case. I'm waiting for a more thorough reply from the HL technical team and wondered if anyone else has a view on this rather strange change?
Specular, thank you sharing those comments. I rather like the Trust as an investment vehicle now that I have seen it. It has a good geographical spread and seems to be forward looking. Interesting.
Digger they also have the Euro bonds debt to reschedule (how much are they/ where did that go? - )mentioned in the Rns of yesterday. Supported by a market cap of £3.43m. Tie that up with discretionary bonuses and options and it seems that the feathering of the nest is well underway with very little in the way of clear objectives or a route to profitability for guess who? Yes, the shareholders! The whole thing stinks!
Heidelberg I was about to write something but I think you have covered most of it! This is just a' keep the lights on' Rns wrapped up in jam tomorrow, only jam won't be there tomorrow .... or the next day. The BOD, past and present has been too busy (with what I am not sure?) to communicate with the shareholders and, more to the point, deliver any value. Just how do they justify their jobs? I sent a polite email to them a couple of years ago explaining my frustrations. I could have saved my energy to speak to my garden wall for all the difference it made. A complete reboot of this company is required.
You hit the nail on the head. Lack of information and aspiration and obvious targets in the rns has been a huge negative for me. They may well be set who knows? I feel the BOD could share a bit more with shareholders if they want to carry us along with them. That was, after all, the sentiment expressed in the interview with Proactive Investors 18/2/20 by James Draper.
The rns contained no targets or milestones for future progress. I guess they will just bumble along until the placing is required. And it will be. Yes revenue is up but so are outgoings. What is the aspiration and timing? Not encouraging I’m afraid.
I fully agree! An advertising company must surely be able to put a positive spin on their own business?! Or is this really a tech business purely and lacks the advertising capability?
Thanks for the feedback Robsky. I need to find out more about how and where to deal directly in shares that are listed only on the ASX. Trying to deal through the likes of Hargreaves Lansdown etc. is very expensive and inefficient as far as I can see. Need to find a decent Aussie stockbroker. Suggestions welcome.
Calidus Resources (spun out of Keras) has a placing ongoing. To take it up via the dealing service a Holder number (HIN or SRN) is required. This is supposed to be on share holding documentation but I can find nothing on the documents I hold from when we gained them when separating from Keras. Could that be because they are held in a holding account? Any ideas anyone?
