Rainbow Rare Earths Phalaborwa project shaping up to be one of the lowest cost producers globally. Watch the video here.
I don't think Satellite is old tech just yet and how many people in the UK have fast enough broadband to be able to stream, especially HD or now 4K. I do agree that that's the way that TV is going but not yet, a hard drive is still required in thousands of locations to store and watch when required. And regarding adverts I take it that BT, Virgin, Talk Talk, EE, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 any loads of other could stop showing adverts too. Oh no, they'd go bust. You'll be complaining about adverts on radio stations next.
I didn't think it was sarcastic. And Sky is in partnership with City Fibre and start building a fibre network 18 months ago. I know BT have spent an absolute fortune and I don't live in a city so the speeds around me aren't brilliant and the people I know that have BT's internet don't rate the wifi range, even on the new hub. Not sure why the BT advert shows a helicopter flying vertically upwards to show clear wifi either. Who has a house with no walls in it??? Anyway, one thing I am 100% on is that ALL the 4 major UK companies are going to have things in the pipeline that we don't know about. Let's just see what happens.
I'm not sure I would use the phrase old Tech. When they manage to stop interference, and they will, the connection speeds between a satellite and a dish will blow fibre out the water. And the brilliant thing that would happen is BT under performing network would no longer be required. The thing that is old tech is having to have cables running in the streets to get to your house.
Firstly BT didn't build their own network, it was owned by The Post Office but was then taken over by BT. Secondly, how many BT Sports customers are using Sky's platform to view it on! Come on BT, build you're own damn Satellite Broadcasting Network. All companies use a piece of everyone else's and it's all political. Unless you've a silly amount of shares in any of these companies that will make or break you then stop bloody moaning.
I'm not sure of that, if it was all on demand then NowTV would be overtaking HD sales. Plus adverts will never disappear from any TV on any platform otherwise the broadcasters have no funding. I have SkyQ myself and think that in a year or two the products and apps that will be available on its platform will be the future of TV. And by the news about BT this morning, who knows what is going to happen with broadband.
Am I missing something? Why the drop in the SP?
I do hope the SP goes up 18% too ;)
Thanks for sharing. How come it hasn't made share news?
And buys are still coming in. Something must be coming. Wonder if BT are in the same boat.
We're recovering here day by day. Not sure about BT.
Good luck with the shares you are sticking with, I'm not selling any. I'm interested in seeing what the leeked Project Ethan is all about.
Not sure about reducing this price but with a bit of luck they'll keep it the same for a couple of years, maybe.
We'll soon find out.
Well, there's always BT Vision if you want BT Sport. They need Sky's platform to run on as I think there are only around 140,000 BT vision customers.
That seems a bit steep, I pay £56 for the full pack. Are you including phone and broadband in that? Multi room or HD pack maybe.
I agree it's morally wrong, in an ideal world it would be great to see the heads of Sky and BT to get together and say "let's not bid at all". Maybe then some footballers would get a normal salary rather than 2 million a year! I'll not make that in my life time.
Don't forget Sky aren't just subscribing to 11 million UK customers now, there are another 9 million European subscribers added. If Sky was just a UK company, the cost might have been a bit hefty. If the SP drops, it'll come back up.
There would have been a damn site more disappointment if the deals were the other way around. What would have been preferred, a lower bid and BT getting it? It has cost what it cost and I'm very happy with the RNS.
I've just read that 3 are looking to offer 10 billion for O2.
It would be more than quad play. TV, Broadband, Phoneline, Sky Go on upto 4 platforms and now possibly Sky's own mobile network. They bought out 02's broadband side, only a matter of time before they wanted a mobile network too. Bring it on.
