Dropped by 20% after hours.

You were right.Another shocker today although Tesla was up 6% at one stage.No doubt something to do with China Covid figures surging.Ironically just they are about to relax their rules too.

Disappointed that the share price hasn’t moved north this morning , in fact a fair bit south, considering the way the US market finished so strongly on Friday.Doesn’t seem logical but then again,SMT isn’t I suppose.
Any factors as to why?

Today is prime example of that as price has fluctuated between 9.20 and 8.96 and follows a similar pattern as indicated previously.
What influences these type of movements in the day so much!-

Tesla are are not the largest holding ,only 3rd at 5.71%.
Behind Moderna and ASML,7.38 & 6.65% respectively.However there’s never a dull moment with Elon for sure!

Any reason for the drop off today?
Nvidia maybe
And things had been so positive too..

Since 2.00pm the price has collapsed.
Any ideas why?

I take it the drop in price this morning is due to the Federal interest rate increase from yesterday.
Funny how it had a positive effect on the Dow and Nasdaq finished up but SMT, no chance!
Disappointing really as it would have been good to get another bounce on the back of an encouraging show ,that appeared out of nowhere.

I’m 50% down on mine and it makes for painful viewing.

It was down 6.7% around midday on Thursday.

The US market sure does not like this stock.One wiff of negativity and the price drops like a stone.

The question is why over such a short period of time?

I listened to the webinar too and, the question on the share price crash was asked.However,it was conveniently side stepped very political like.Just some real time personal views would have been something.
As you say, at least they can start collecting their Air Miles again ??

Why do think there is not one ounce of positive impact on SMT price when Tesla produces yet more strong numbers yesterday?

EARNINGS Q4 2021 -Jan 26th WEDNESDAY 22:07

Total revenue increased by $4B to Q4 $17.7B ( Q3 $13.7B )
Gross profit increase from Q3 $3.66B to Q4 $4.84B
EPS increased from Q3 $1.86 to Q4 $2.54
Cash flow doubled in this quarter to $2.77B

If this is true are we expecting a bounce back fairly swiftly to some sort of reasonable price?
Wasn’t that long ago SMT riding high ,even after large reduction at start of last year, but it seems to me as though someone,somewhere in the market place just said,” enough of that” you’ve had it good for far too long and flicked the switch off.

February dropped big time too but it bounced back to an all time high end of November .Do you honestly think someone turned off the technology switch and said” that’s enough of that “.These tech giant’s are here to stay.Be brave or be gone.

Got to say SMT share price has taken a bit of a beating since December,more so than my other holdings, even accounting for new Covid concerns.

Why do you think the markets have gone against them so strongly and in such short period of time?

Surely the drop is down to the news Omicron virus spreading further around the world and, the announcement from Moderna CEO the other day about vaccine durability

It must be China! Oh the roller coaster that is SMT.One step forward, two back.Never boring is it!

As we hit another big dip today,and I’m sure it’s temporary, what I always find intriguing is that you never get an increase of 57% in one day do you?
Why is that do you think?

You know as soon as as you mentioned “a couple of good days “ the price was gonna drop today!
Still think the price will reach 17.50 by end of the year though .We shall see...
