Yep. I’m with lloyds. Gave up on the assisted chat, rang the number. 40 mins wait on the phone but easy once through. Forgot my pin so they sorted the ID, checked with the right department, confirmed my status and that I could vote that way, confirmed my voting preferences very very carefully and asked if I wanted to reset some defaults so I had AGM voting alerts included in future.
Here y’all go .. CMi2i's unique specialisation is the provision of the fastest and most accurate share and debt holder identification service. The integrity of this intelligence provides our clients with the best foundations for their activities in the global capital markets.
Working with Equity and Debt Issuers, Company Boards and Corporate Advisors, we provide intelligence, tools, insight and advice to achieve goals in areas including Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Shareholder Activism, Capital Restructuring, Corporate Reputation Risk Management and Regulatory Obligations.
As opposed to canvassing portfolio managers and relying on public data, CMi2i's methodology accurately identifies the ultimate beneficial owner, who manages the investment decisions (internal or external) and who holds the power in the voting mandate.
Snippet from cmi2i home page, I was having a snoop out of curiosity:
We have worked on over 1000 Corporate Transactions, Proxy Battles and Activist Defences where real-time ownership, accurate decision maker mapping and technical knowledge is a critical part of success or failure of the project.
They sell a wide range of rather serious capabilities ..
I thought you was all winding me up. I’ve just got my Solgold letter today too! All I can say is ..
Little darling, the smile's returning to their faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, do, dun, do, do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Change of artist required possibly
An injection of philosophy is needed here I believe, while we ponder our destiny ...
It's gonna take money
A whole lotta spending money
It's gonna take plenty of money
To do it right, child
It's gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It's gonna take patience and time, umm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it
To do it right, child
I reckon you could put that to music and make it the company song :)
Replying to my own post, whatever next.
I got a very prompt reply (and surprisingly familiar salutation) to my question about arranging a proxy vote through him. It contained the following advice ... “ No, all of the votes need to be directed up through the broker to the custodian and then to the registry. Therefore, please contact your broker. Our proxy advisor will be writing to most retail holders with 10,000 or more shares next week, to assist in this process”
I’m trying to translate that into my context where the shares sit in an ISA c/o Lloyds / Halifax share dealing service. Any plain English interpretation welcomed!
Once he’s thought on it, suppose he was to feign a heart attack, step down, they swear Pence in over Christmas so a presidential pardon can be organised pronto for services rendered to the GOP. Didn’t someone notorious recover from dementure once, and wasn’t there a Libian terrorist on his last legs released on compassionate grounds and then lived on for a long time. Trump, like other individuals with dire health issues before him, can suddenly get better and thus have the last laugh. Enough on politics. Back to copper and hold
I thought hostile takeovers were primarily unwelcome, perhaps forcefully argued in the media, but this is turning rather nasty, almost presidential. Can’t say I’m impressed by Cornerstone’s tone, whatever the rights and wrongs of the points being contested.
Ah, ok, by popular request here we go. It’s from the management accountant fraternity (my ex was one) ..
Q .. what’s the definition of an actuary
A .. someone who found audit too exciting.
It makes me chuckle still, although as I advance in years, I hope the actuary profession will forgive me and deliver on the retirement income I aspire to.
