I think it's because you always bring the finance person forward when a takeover is imminent, I'd imagine it has been forced by the IIs as part of there agreement to vote yes

Looks ike deal is almost done, don't see wood group walking away or that would have happened by now.

They are desperate for the takeover and I expect a formal bid by the 30th of 35p with the backing of the board

I think the deal will be done at 35p without the shares returning to market, Sidara won't make a formal bid without already knowing they have the backing of the major shareholders

I think if/when KG is voted back in, this is the green light for Sidara to firm up it's 35p bid.

I don't see this as a vote for chair, more a vote of confidence in the possible offer to come, Sidara will only make a firm offer if they feel it will get the vote,

Pete, that's a very large increase on the current share price, I would be very surprised if an offer arrives above 70p

@Surin, it appears no news has been deemed bad news to a lot at the closing bell .

I suspect wood group will be mulling over the cost of refinancing against selling on the cheap...hopefully all will be clearer come Monday

Yes Apollo did back in early 2023, wood group have been found out to be a financial nightmare since then

Sidara walk away, obviously saw something they didn't like, now see the opportunity to pick the buisness up at a much more realistic price

Me too, I only took a punt on these at 24p, after selling another potential takeover company Winward

I disagree,

wood group are a financial basket case, they have two options rights issue or sell, Sidara know this. At the present share price, what value would there be in a rights issue and would that even fix the problem of poor stratagy and poor management.

I see Sidara bid being around 75p mark and institutional holders taking that offer
