The above link is a good intro. into the Level 2 SETS Order Book - it is to all intents and purposes a real time order system in which MM's and DMA traders place on the order book their buy and sell orders at various prices

The left side = bid side (buyers)
The right side = offer side (sellers)

remember - these are intentions to trade (orders) - they are executed trades

If the book is for eg

2 v 1 (50k v 25K) this means there are 2 buy orders (2*25k) bidding to buy at touch (the current most competitive price) and 1 sell order offering 25k at touch - the book is bid strong and bullish

if the touch was 1 v 2 (buy orders (1) outnumbered by sellers (2))

depth is essentially - the total number of shares included in all displayed orders eg - 275k v 850k means across the book there are more sellers than buyers - offer heavy

if left is greater than right - good
if right is greater than left - slightly less so or negative

it's important to note I am an amateur so insights are slightly naive but the order book is open to manipulation no matter what the authorities say!

next large sell order is DMA 200k at 42p

It's what said and discussed behind closed doors and off-stage that I'm more interested in. Public performances and company presentations are great but they only provide us with a limited amount of information.

When Mather is sat at the bar in this conference enjoying a whiskey and the CEO of a Chinese mining company comes over to chat. I want to be in the middle listening. Not in person, obviously. Are these new tenements of quality though I wonder? One would think Mather's done his homework and secured as much prime territory as possible.

You know I suspect the government of Ecuador recognise Mather's unique talent for seeing prospectivity and exploiting it to the maximum. He's got 'the eye', as it were. Some have it, many do not. I do not possess it, many on here do.

Consolidation's a fool's paradise. It instantly 'matures' the share-price in line with the size of the company but in fundamental terms it is meaningless.

The share price is ultimately determined by the equity value contained within the listed company you hold shares in. All else is pure fluff

Shandong opens a rep-office in Ecuador. Why? >> 'Ecuador had both gold and copper reserves but the "exploration work is still very rough", so very large financial resources would be required to invest'....In other words, they have the cash to invest but no major projects to speak of. But the article also points to some form of Shandong-Barrick partnership. Now Barrick were also rumoured to be looking at Ecuador.

All the main tenements etc are tied up (and the Ecuador governemnt's stopped issuing new licences).

If these majors want to get their hands on prospectivity then they're gonna have to cough up. I believe SOLG-MATHER does indeed possess lots of these areas of real potential for gold and copper.
