Jemena is planning a capex of around $3bn-$4bn...that's some outlay and an indication of the size of what they expect...I bet they're also planning years into the future...and no doubt working with the NTG and the Aus-govt....we have a nationally-internationally strategic asset here...

You know. I wouldn't object to a placing by FOG to ensure we have enough cash to fend off a cheap bid..the more cash we have the greater our ability to defend a low-ball offer unless of course political pressure is brought to bear on PoQ

I do like the Jemena reference in the article below of 'moving ahead with early preparations'....what might they be I wonder? It's happening TODAY not in 6 months time or whenever drilling restarts...I always said to keep an eye on the actions of Jemena for they are the harbinger of what's to come...the pipes need to be in place to get the gas to the customer....pipeline planning is essential and would indicate how commercialisation will happen and the NTG want that commercialisation to happen asap...

However, the expansion of the pipeline was contingent on the NT's fracking moratorium being lifted, which happened earlier this year.

Mr Tudor said Jemena was closely monitoring the development plans of all companies working in the Beetaloo Basin.

"We are hoping to work with customers to fill [the current pipeline] up to 100 per cent and the Beetaloo Basin will take it into expansion mode.

'We'd expect that as they develop their plans we'll be there with them developing pipeline infrastructure."

Although the pipeline currently only supplies commercial customers, Mr Tudor said if the expansion did go ahead, it could significantly reduce gas bills.
